  • how do you get windows xp on the hp

  • good

  • @dantetheipodlover ya but noone uses macbooks execpt old people

  • Laptops and macs are for girls, deal with it.

  • That Eee PC Looks like a MacBook.......

  • Hp mini won wooo -3 go hp

  • Wich laptop won

  • The 2133's do seem to struggle loading XP, strangely enough. A few tweaks helps, but the performance is still lacking. I'm surprised the 2133 "won" in this instance.

  • eee pc must be the best :(

  • i have the 2133, which i found rather slow loading xp

  • turn on 5 asusat same time blue screen

  • The HP Mini-note still wins :D

  • My eee pc takes 8 seconds to boot up.

  • you forgot the 0 after 8 :p

EEE pcs dont have a fuckin dualcore uknow ;)

  • funny, but truly i clocked and it takes 8 seconds,im using a cutom copy of xp on my eee pc, i have two eee pcs, and the one that is in my youtube videos is my normal copy of windows, my other one has the custom copy, dual core processor needed.

  • microXP perhaps?

    runs great on such hardware

  • NO, NLITED XP, OR VLITE, WHICH EVER ONE, I CANT REMEMBER. I HAVE IT ON A FLASH DRIVE. SORRY BOUT THE CAPS. oh and search winsetupfromusb 1.1, it allows u to put windows xp on a flash drive and install form it.

  • MicroXP is lighter ;) uses around 60 mb of ram at first boot

ISO image is under 100mb too LOL

  • never heard of it until u told me, and i clocked my eee pc boot up, i was wrong it is 10 seconds for ful boot. But thanks for tellin me about micro xp, i downloaded it yesterday and i plan on putting it on my eee pc.

  • We all know that they don't have dual cores. The reason it's so fast is because the OS that comes default on the Eeepc, a linux derivative, is wicked-fast. Mine usually boots somewhere between 7 and 12 seconds.

  • mate 60 seconds to boot??!!! You mad, mines takes only 10 seconds

  • My Asus 900hd boots way faster......Why is that?

  • 0:53 WTF??

  • HP ! yeah !

  • we dont really care =D

  • Comment removed

  • Why buy an apple if you could get a game-pc that is much better?

  • Spoilt kid.

  • How am I spoiled? I payed for all myself from pure yard work and fixing people's computers!

    Learn to spell too.

  • Ah ok. I thought you were a kid. Sorry for assuming ;)

P.S. I always get confused between "spoilt" and "spoiled"

  • Forgot to say; Good luck with what you're doing. It really sounds interesting.

  • the eee pc my charger gets soo hot wen im useing it with the charger and i dont no what botton i have to press to get the at sign

  • i have hp mini 1100 and it literally takes 20 seconds to boot after installing xp pro on it

  • toshiba wtf

    wheres the toshiba?

thers a hp and and asus

  • HP or TOSHIBA ???

    i think TOSHIBA ??

  • are you blind?? The title says HP and you can see HP on the video

  • i asking who is beter ... !!!

  • ohh than its totaly toshiba :D:D

  • Oh yeah you always know which one is HP. It is usually the one that looks the ugliest. Altought IBM wins the ungly contest.

  • lol right on my hp computer looks like a tin can.

    .... a cube tin can....

  • ibm doesnt make personal computers anymore... seeing as that branch of the company got bought out by lenovo

  • Apparently they bought their design team as well. Levonos look TERRIBLE. I dont even think they have a design team lol

  • What do you mean by that i think the HP 2140 looks really good

  • No one gives a flying fuck!!!!!!

  • The eeepc screen is so ugly, looks like a fisher price "my first pc" toy..

  • yeah... i think so too...

  • what? thats the hp.... wait it just looks like that on a black screen. new eee pc's are better

  • o_O - So Microsoft Windows XP is faster than Windows Vista on an HP 2133

  • i have linux or ubuntu i wanna know how to put xp on there without disk

  • u cant unless ur pc suports boot from usb and then its pritty much exsactly the same thing

just make a cd from a torrent using power iso

  • that asus screen problem?

i thought hp mini gave vista home premium with 2gb ram...

both quite mini... hp won juz a few seconds...

  • The HP won by just a few seconds.

  • LMFAO, what res is he running on the asus? its totally the wrong one for the screen size

  • yeah but doesnt the hp one have more rams?

  • they were running different service pacs

  • ...like watching paint dry, this was

  • i got windows 7 AND vista running at the same time with a 0.2 Ghz processor and it takes about 0.003 seconds to turn on xD lol and my keyboard on ly has one button for everything i dont have a mouse its mind control =]

  • No fair, one's faster than the other.

  • Wow! I have Vista and its boots up like in 39 seconds, 40 seconds flat. Wow. Shut off time is19 seconds flat. Shut off is slow though.

  • Right viva..Vista lol

  • I was just surprised cause I thought xp would boot faster than Vista. In general it does but ehhhh. Too lazy to go on.

  • It's ordered..

    1."Vista"

    2."7"

    3."XP"

    according to booting time..!

  • tested with the 1.6ghz 2gb ram hp2133 -

    Vista: 1:12

    Seven: 0:40

    XP: 0:30

    (mins:sec)

  • May be it differs from one computer to the other...

    Thanks for sharing :)

  • My Linux boots in 10 seconds. I promise am not just saying that. I am going to make a vid. Also it's shutdown speed is 7 seconds.

  • Ok.

  • what linux, Ubuntu?

  • Yes.

  • f hp

  • hp wins :D

  • not, eee wins by 1 second:P

  • thats called a winner lol!

  • They're both slow, lol

  • i love my hp i got the 10 inch screen one!!! =] hp 4 life!!!

  • I wanna buy the same 10 inch netbook by HP, trying to find some video reviews, but couldn't find any. Do you know any good review that I can see?

  • There's a review of the new hp. I saw it in the flesh..

    It's badass!!

  • wich one were faster? :D

  • normally the 701 is much quicker in startup (about 30-40sec. to desktop)

  • hp 4live

  • amazing!

    Bradlinder tell me

how did you install XP on your HP 2133 if this laptop doesnt have CD-ROM??¿?¿?

  • .iso

  • mounting ISO?

    what a piece of /$i+ I prefer ps3

  • what are you talking about? whats with ps3?, if u think that i hate ps3s your WRONG! i like ps3s...???

  • what are you talking about? saying ".iso"

I guess you mean installing Windows XP mounting and ISO WIN XP Pack

    And i like ps3

  • idk what i was thinking! lol, i guess i should of just said... external dvd drive

  • hey do u play "poolshark 2" ps2 online game? UH?

  • huh? there is a game called poolshark 2, and you are asking me if i play it? if so, no

  • uh? stay plaing mario bros baby player!

    roger over! uh=?

  • what? im so confused!

  • mini notebooks are not that good....normal laptops are much better....i mean the mini notebook just llooks kool..

  • I have a dv7t. A 6-7 lb notebook is great but its just hell to carry to school just to take notes or surf the web. Netbooks are great for everyday use. Since we usually end up surfing the web more than playing games.

  • great point, ill use my computer to play games...and netbook to take notes..

  • i have the hp mini and works great!

  • you did not overclock the processor. they come STANDARD with a 900 mhz.

  • God damned shut your mouth if u doesn't know anything about this! Asus Eee with Celeron model is underclocked as standart! You must overclock it to 900Mhz and if u ask for 1Ghz, forget on it. I can't overclock my Eee more than 940Mhz.

  • dont give me your bitch. shut your bitch hole and fuck off. you ovbiously dont know anythings about computers. IT SAYS RIGHT ON THE FUCKING BOX DUMBSHIT. whatever. im just gonna ignore you becuase you or your opinions dont matter to me AT ALL.

  • Well I HAVE Asus Eee and I HAVE HP 2133 Mini note so I know what I'm talking about, kid! And it says he OVERCLOCK IT TO 900Mhz, so he CAN'T overclock it more u dumass. SouthEastBlue is right, I'm right and you are just some little kid that think he is tought...

    Have a nice day :-)

  • is the hp faster with linux and does it improve battery life being its using a solid state hd

  • I have gotten 7 hours once of real time on my eee pc 901, so yes it does.

  • Keep in mind that the Asus PC is overclocked

  • asus eee pc sucks go HP Mini Notebook

  • Their new Mini 1000 is probably one of the best offers in the market right now.

  • thats bullshit, they come as with a 900. if overclocked it would be atleast a 1.0 ghz

  • Your wrong - the Processor is UNDER clocked as standard, you need to overclock it to get it's correct speed. The underclock as standard is to prolong battery life.

Next time you talk from your rear end make sure you know what your talking about.

  • How are these? Are they just slow to boot up and open applications? Or are they also slow when you are trying to do stuff. I'm contemplating on getting one. I'm not too worried about botting up time, my concern is while the application is loaded is it going to run slow ? I am extremely knowledgable about computer and laptops but havent had the chance to test out one of these.

  • Not really, I have an Eeepc 901 running Ubuntu-eee and it loads things just as fast as my 13.3inchn Toshiba laptop (as for my desktop, well thats a quad core so its in a different league)

  • Quad-Core is hardly useful for anything yet.(not support for that) Hence, some dual-cores are faster that Quad-Cores(For now). But yes, in very near future, Quad-Core will kick ass badly.

  • but its using x64 Linux and almost all the programs can be set up to use up to 256 (remember Linux is the main os for supercomputing) cores. For example in manslide (video editor) is currently set up to use all 4 cores and so it the gimp (image editor).

  • I really dislike quadcores, I own one thats 2.0 Ghz Each core, but I sold it and switched to a tri-core 3.0GHZ. Its waaaaay faster and I found drivers that utilize all the cores at once,

    Its awesome.

  • oh yeah!! well mine boots up in 34 seconds, son.

    what now, you got competition!!!!!

    LOL

  • Truth is, what this looks like to me is that you have a 701 that you regularly use, and an out of the box 2133. IMO, this is not a fair comparison as I have absolutely no idea what crap (scuse my language) that you might have loaded on that Eee. Out of the box or off a fresh install of XP, it should really take maybe 30 seconds MAX from the push of the power button on the Eee.

  • Don't forget Anti Virus XP... not

  • my win xp sp3 boots in 35 seconds...

  • the eeepc looks like a toy (and feels like one too!)

  • Eee PC da Best Asus rulz

  • jeez i can tell you really dont know how to run a proper test. that eee is so much slower than my 701. did you hit your head with it?

  • the eeepc is booting relatively slow

  • The Video card for both subnotebook is not really great if you want to play games. If you want to increase the performance of this... I recommend you to Install Linux Ubuntu it is more intuitive.

  • It's not comparable to any high end system such as MAC. For me I prefer to get HP 2133 if you're looking for basic performance gr8 screen resolution keyboard is 92% closest to the actual desktop keyboard it is slightly heavier to asus eee though I rest assured that you won't disappoint once you have it.

  • I don't think the Hp Mini note is that bad. Low performance OK i get it, but it is meant mainly for people in school. The boost up time is slow with Vista, but the time it takes to download a program or access a program is pretty fast. I do agree that Vista needs work to improve.

  • How does one downgrade from vista to xp? well not downgrade upgrade since vista is so anoying???

  • You don't downgrade. You format the Vista partition and install XP over it.

  • SSD is really not that much better. The price is not worth having one at all.

  • I know. I read somewhere that it actually has slower times than a hard disk.

  • Faster than my Centrino Core Duo! (on battery)

  • To compute things with

  • What's the point of a comment like that ;]

  • I don't think this is a fair test. You should compare two clean installs.

You could have a couple of services in the eee and that could be adding some more time to your boot up. Although I thank you for testing the MiniNote with XP. Those idiots put Windows Vista on a crappy processor and I am sure they all at HP have realized that now. ALL the reviews say the same: Low performance. Under-average processor.

  • why is the mini note running XP?

  • because the author/uploader of this video installed xp on it (hp is now offering drivers for the 2113 for xp pro, just look at the HP support page, (they realized how idiotic the whole "vista on a 1.2 ghz processor" thing was)

I think I'll go with the mini note, I've been watching a few comparisons of these two, I see mini note is faster (better specs too, and up to 10x as much HD space as the eee pc, relatively the same size!!)

  • The fact that you modded it and put crap on it that others probably wouldn't when install XP makes it very unfair. Also I think someone else mentioned that your resolution is phucked. I agree.

  • Actually it would make it unfair to compare these two machines w/ totally different Operating systems on them. This is showing which Machine would boot XP faster.

  • Keep in mind the Mini Note has maybe 10 times as much storage space here. The mini has a hard drive, the Eee is booting from flash.

  • But, Thats was makes the Eee PC faster to load, no hard drive

  • yeah but flash is better than hdd ... its quite, faster and saves batteries ... SSD disk is future, HDD is history ..

  • That depends on the SSD. They are not all speed demons. My dell runs the Samsung 64G SSD and it is a smoker but it also costs over $900 USD. There are cheaper ones but they are slower too.

  • try increasing the ram on the asus eee to 2GIG, it will shave off around 20 seconds in your boot up time :)

  • The HP and the EEE CP are runing diferents versisos of Windows XP, and i guess the bios fo the EEE PC in the videos, is a bad version!!!! too Slow

  • he knows windows is bad, he is just timing to see how long it takes to start

  • XP isn't that bad... now Vista: The wow this sucks starts now. I prefer Mac OS X 10.5. It's awesome.

  • Yes i know, Xp is now perfectionated... but now Vista users have a lot of problems as we used to with XP when it was released. It's gonna take a lot of time, tests and updates to make it better....

  • Its clearly unfair on the EEE, mine takes about 30 seconds too boot.

Be sensible, Buy A EEE and save urself some money while still having a quicker system

  • EEE being a quicker system ?!? yea ok.... I guess that's why the HP Mini note is available in faster CPU configuratoins, and more available memory...

  • This is clearly not a fair comparison, since the eeePC seems to be using some sort of mod software making the start up resolution far higher than on the HP.

  • how did you overclock your eee pc? did you use eee_ctl?

  • Oh my, the Via chipset is a dog!!!!

  • as far as i am concerned the speeds of the chipsets are alright. My old 1.3ghz celeron platform worked well on XP for almost everthing if you are not too demanding. But i just wished there was something with a keyboard of the size of that of the mininote and the weight of the eeePc. This would make a perfect portable work station.

  • Try GameXP, it should reduce the start time.

  • it's a tide dude u gotta fix ur display on ur display settings try 800x600

  • God almighty I'd forgotten how slow an intact XP start is! My EEE boots in about 25 seconds lol

  • Try this on the EEE 900 and we'll see who boots faster :D

  • Considering the eee 900 is virtually the same as the 701, it would take about the same time.

  • The 900 does have 1GB of RAM this time around though. I might try this myself when Asus announce a release in Australia :)

  • Well... I guess :P

But starting up, windows doesn't use 512MB anyway.

  • Although I still prefer an Eee over any other subnotebook :P

  • is this a full xp sp3 install or is it nLited?

  • i have 2.0GHZ .. is that enough for SP3 ?

  • Is this the stock 512mb of ram or did you upgrade?

  • format and reinstall xp in your eeepc

    that's not a fair test

  • 你的EPC 用得太久了

  • This is a HDD vs SSD compare.

If HP 2133 use SSD will be faster ?

  • Could you compare HP 2133 and EeePC900 at Vista bootup?

    Thank

  • did you get the audio to work with xp on the hp mini? ive got all the drivers working except for audio.

  • Get a Mac, even faster my friends!!!

  • response to maple leaf gaolie, accidentally made it a comment not a reply :P

  • not the point, dumbass

  • EPC會不會太慢了阿!!

    我的702跑馬燈3次就進入Windows桌面了!

  • can you do CPU benchmark comparison of the two? thanks and thnx for upload btw

  • Is that the EEE with the underclocked 630 MHz CPU?? I bet it's the underclocked EEE with 630 MHz... so a Via 1.2 GHz boots in roughly the same time as a 600 MHz intel celeron... nice.

  • The Eee PC is running at 900MHz. I've updated the description to make this more clear.

  • Great!

  • which are the specs of the eeepc you are using?

  • Very interesting I thought that the boot time between the eeepc and the mini note where a lot different.

Have you tried video playback ?

  • What is processor freqency in HP?

  • Hi, could you post please which mini note are you using (4gb ssd or 120gb).

    thanks

  • This is the 120GB HDD
