@LanceCampeau Thank you. I've upgraded since this video. I now use a Canon Xha1 with a Brevis35mm. You can see footage from it here on youtube. youtube.com/user/7sidesProductions
@lightmydank I dont know any im sorry. I had to make my own steadycam since i cant afford one. I used metal pipes for plumbing. a 6" on top and a 3' on the bottom with a 1' sticking out the side for a hand grip. it works good enough for me. altho the Hv30s get a lot of bounce so i never got it to be perfectly smooth. they also make programs that help smooth out film but never look "real".
@dooblehorn I made myself one, but never used it to much, moved on to the canon xha1. you can see my new videos at REIGNING RABBITS or GAMENUTZTV on youtube. Please leave comments if you like what you see
@lightmydank I use a can of compressed air, and spray it. Once i put the lens on my camera i didnt bother to take it off, but If i did i would clean it before and after using it.
this was 200 bux ? its the vibrating one? and ummm do u have to buy any extras? like a lens...and if so,which do u recommend? Nice shots btw but u shouda ended it a lil bbetter:)
@lightmydank No it was not vibrating it was static. I bought a nikon 50mm f/1.8D and that was it. Honestly im not sure what to recomend since im not to good with lens yet. Everyone else seem to be using the nikon i listed above thats why i got that one. I wish i could of followed focused her at the end but it was my first day with it, and she hates when i film her.
It does. Also for lens might wanna get prime lens with bigger apertures, for example, Nikon 50mm f1.4D or Sigma 35mm f1.4 (Sigma 35mm is a wide angle lens).
The lower the 'f-stops' number the more light is let in. Coz bear in mind when you fix the Twoneil on your Camcorder, there is a long tunnel effect created from the lens and your camera, thus your image will look darker, thus lighting environment is very important when using a DOF adapter lens.
In my opinionm it depends onwhat kind of shoot angle you usual want to do but I think I need something like this:
1) 35mm f1.4 (for wide angle shots)
2) 85mm f1.4 (for general telephoto shots)
and in between these two I will use a 50mm f1.4 lens.
But if you want you can start with a 35mm f1.4 first, the wide angle will pretty much cover you for most of the shot, the most you have to do maybe is to get closer to the subject when you shoot the video.
When we use a DOF adapter for our camcorder, you will notice it will look darker right?
That is because the DOF lens barrel itself is creating the tunnel effect does light does gets cut down.
Which is why I think the bigger the aperture stops are e.g. f1.4 or even bigger f1.2 the more light will enter (so you can shoot a bit better in low light or indoor situation).
ALso, if you can afford it, invest in a basic lighting system like those portable LED Cool Lights.
looks slick... footage could be a bit brighter, but optics are very "filmic"

Use a tripod or a good steadicam.

35mm adapter to capture that "film look", expensive as *fuck
JavaManEntertainment 2 years ago
the adapter built by twoneil is only 200 bucks. what it does is blur out the background.
Chozen1one 2 years ago
dude, a 35mm adapter is not expensive as fuck lol
the cost of an adapter is typically the fraction of the price of one of my professional shorts.
you can pick one of these up for under $300
