The lady apparently knows this dog, and probably even knows his name. Why is the kid holding the camera calling the dog Japan ???? He heard the lady say the dogs name was Sophie several times.
isn't biting at the air some sort of neurological issue? I think it can be a type of epileptic seizure. This dog might be doing it for fun, but you might want to get it checked out.

that was funny. Goldendoodles have very funny faces and eyes and do funny things. One of my relatives has a goldendoodle who is 3 years old now. Once last year when they were visiting my house my cousins dog ran onto our deck ,howled like a wolf for a minute and came back inside like nothing had happened. He even tilted his head up while howling. Even stranger there no sounds or dogs in the area so i have no idea why he became a wolf for 60 seconds

I wouldn't worry -- while "fly-biting" can be a sign of a seizure, this dog is obviously doing it in response to the owner. More likely, it is a stress-response behavior. I don't think your dog is having fun when he does this, but if it doesn't seem to upset him in a lasting way... well, he's your dog.
OMG - I swear that's my dog's sibling...they look WAY too alike.

Our puppy Reina is a GoldenDoodle and she does this once in a while. Cool to see she isn't the only one. :-)

Mine is 3 and he somewhat likes to go swimming.
He first hated the water.
Then I would through rocks in the water to make a splash to get him in there.
We later took him from a deck to the lake many times. He first would swim to shore but he later would enjoy it and swim to us.
It takes time.
