NYC / North Jersey definitely need a station like this Trance, Chillout, House. Really getting tire of the same old stuff. Seriously there are 23780867976 hip hop & RB stations, 4358978287 latino stations.. What about the this... this music has been very under rated and needs to go all out here. Everywhere els in the world there are stations that play this music and people eat it up. i think its just that the others feel intimidated by stations like pulse. i'd like to see pulse take over KTU

@danmarino1970 Its the greedy ass record labels and corp that killed dance, house and latin freestyle music. The reason they play the same ol music like Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Rihanna 24/7 radio stations its because record labels only care about making a handful of money. Dance music artist they are under rated and it doesn't make record labels that much money to keep it going like pop and hip hop artist. Plus its Ultra records fault which they need to push more dance music out.

I know Wikipedia can't be trusted sometimes but on WNYZ-LP Wikipedia, it says "It is rumored Pulse 87 may be making a come back."

I hope its true. It was doing way better in the Arbitron ratings than Party FM.

corporation that owned pulse went into bankrupty. a Dance station can come back to radio in nyc but under a new name but who knows when that will happen

When I turned on Pulse 87 and heard Party Fm, I called my best friend right away and said what the hell is going on with Pulse 87? He had no idea, it had just happend the day before. I told him..."its gone" its a new station taken over byparty 105 on Long Island, which mind you, back in 1997 when it first started was just like Pulse 87 was when they shut down operations.

Because of Pulse FM, i finally found a station that had substance, well will still not match up with internet radio or satellite radio, but was good enough. Now I dare you to listen to Party FM. PARTY is a misnomer. It should be called ELEVATOR MUSIC FM.

I know Party FM is not as dance oriented as Pulse was, but they're not exactly KTU, NOW or Z100 either. Good luck getting KTU Z100 or NOW to play a song from Deadmau5, Kaskade, Agnes, Inna, Sophia May, Cybersutra ,Basshunter, Plumb, Chris Lake, Ameerah, Tiesto, Jus Jack, Annagrace, Exit 59, Ercola, Peter Lutz, or Blake Lewis.

i believe either mega media or island broadcasting had to come up with $500,000 to keep the station on air or they needed some other huge company to buy pulse 87 in order for the station to stay on the air. with the economy in a recession no money and no other big company to buy the station to stay on air pulse went off air

now they got party 87.7fm playin takin over the position of pulse
