  • did you know that the "oh so great star" was actual sent by the devil. the three wise men were sent to kill the newborn king. god I sound like a Jesus freak. the more you know

  • oh my god gremlins.

  • que pessimo cantor pra cantar isso a minha qui é vanessa carlton canta muito melhor e 100 vezes melhor qui é a vanessa carlton

  • didn't JLS done something like this?? they put in their song do you see what is see in it

  • No offense, but while this is an OK recording, it is a later remake rather than the "original version." To hear Simeone's first release of the song, try out the post labeled "1962 Original: Do You Hear What I Hear." And Merry Christmas to all!

  • Amen! :) another classic :]

  • Nice. But I prefer Bing Crosby's version.

  • If you liked 'Carrie Underwood' then listen to both the 'Carpenters' and 'Susan Boyle' the only drawback with Susan's is that she leaves out a crucial verse of the song but it is very lovely to listen to as well.

  • I like the Carrie underwood one better but this is a pretty cool song

  • I play this purely cus its of gremlins! i dnt care wat pple say. i think gremlins is the greatest christmas movie ever! :)

  • ikr it took ma like half way into it i figured it out

  • Jesus Christ is what its all about!!!

  • Gremlins!

  • THANK YOU!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! IT IS BY FAR MY MOST FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONG! EVEN THOUGH GREMLINS SCARED THE F**CK OUT OF ME!

  • can you get the magi(the heart of man is a palace) on here, too?

  • I love old music! SOME newer musics are good, but most of them suck, ESPECIALLY the REALLY popular ones!!

  • My favorite Christmas song :)

  • i love the 'a star, a star dancing in the sky' part ;)

  • This song is so pretty :)

  • I remember that record jacket. My parent's had his album we listened to it every Christmas growing up. What wonderful memories that brings back. Thank you.

  • this video is good but its very old fashioned :)

  • That lp that featured "Do You hear What IHear What I Hear" by the HSC is "The Wonderful Songs Of Christmas". The jacket says 1962 on it but it could of been released in 1963. It's been long out of print and it's a really good one. All of the HS Chorale Christmas albums are good.

  • Unfortunately, this isn't the original recording of this song by The Harry Simeone Chorale. They put out a Christmas lp in the Fall of 62 on Mercury. That version I believe was the first recording they made of it and possibly the very first recording period before Bing Crosby.

  • Brings back so many memories of childhood Christmases. Thanks!

  • 4 people are atheists

  • this song scares the shit out of me! everytime i hear it i sense gremlins around >.>'

  • @ffvskh Hahaha, now I'm going to think of this every time I hear this song. lol

  • Jls I mean :')

  • ALWAYS used to sing this :) only reason i remembered it is because of the jason derilo song :)

  • @TheVampireFrog11 I only remember it from the movie Gremlins. xD

  • @fmarcum01 hahaha i didnt even know it was on that film cool :')

  • @TheVampireFrog11 Of coarse it is! :D Here's a clip:

    /watch?v=UaenMX8p04U

  • @fmarcum01 thannkyouu :)

  • an old family treasure. Still played every Christmas season in my house using the original LP

  • Nice

  • @Juliaflo Thanks. HOpe that you have a merry Christmas too :)

  • I wish I could love this song. I really do. But the Gremlins really ruined it for me. Every time I hear it, those ugly and monstrous little green creatures pop into my mind, terrorizing the city during Christmas.

  • @TheRgupta0747 I love those ugly, vicious little green guys myself. No Christmas would be complete for me without them. lol

  • HE is the only HOPE ever given for redemption. Thank you FATHER.

  • This is the only Christmas song that kinda sounds like a pedophiile thing.

  • @STPSDARKNESS Now cut that out. It is a great song.

  • @Juliaflo Yeah I know, It just sounds like that to me.

  • @STPSDARKNESS LOL that was funny!!! I almost pissed myself.

  • love this song

  • Brings back childhood memories and is one of my favorite Christmas songs!! Thanks so much!!

  • i miss my dad because of this music T_T

  • 10th St Elementary :)

Mr. Garcia made me sing this n I still member it

  • Watching in 2011

  • gremlins

  • how come i cant hear anything on this?

  • This is cool to know, I had to sing this song in choir for Christmas...some of us were given parts to sing as a solo in front of the whole school.

I tried to tell my choir teacher that I couldn't hit the low point correctly in the "With a tail as big as a kite" and tried to get her to give me a different one. So when I went up to sing...someone had unplugged the mike!!!! I was livid! My choir teacher, was like "SING!" and I was like "I AM!". Needless to say it was embarrassing!

  • @LadyRaven69

FYI: This was back in the late 90's...so yeah! Choir 1998-ish...7th or 8th grade choir...

  • It is great to hear the "classic" versions of these songs!

  • im singing this is choir cant wait

  • Christmas is coming and i cant wait for it.

  • i love this :-)

    Fantastic album, my favourite

  • 4 people never got to the king

  • @grumpytosnowwhite - it's now 4 people that need hearing aids. :)

  • I always thought this song was creepy.

  • i'm singing this in my chorus class :) and were singing about 12 others 2 and were doing choreography with it 2

  • @134eevee I have to play this on my instrument....

  • Choir 2011 :3

  • I know The modern musics today are JB, gaga, spears, etc. (trash musics)

but the old musics are the legend \m/

  • @ChanChan1206 Trash music indeed

  • @ChanChan1206 I agree, out with the JB!

  • @ChanChan1206 I second that, and hope your have a Merry Christmas.

  • Christmas songs! :) It's not even Halloween, and I'm in the spirit.

  • Im 14 and I swear christmas means so much to me bcuz of the memories I have had in just 14 years my family dreads it now but I dying understand why bcuz nobody knows gjr much time we have left to enjoy life and christmas

  • My childhood come to life, now I'm sharing this music with my grandchildren and they love it !!!!

  • love that original version :)

  • im the type of person that grew up on the original Christmas songs and i hate all the new Christmas remakes, they don't sound good too me.

  • @KatelynLuvsLizards I agree!! nothing compares to the original Christmas carols!!

  • my freakin childhood.

  • This was a great LP album. I remember the cover well. Did it not include "The Little Drummer Boy"?

  • @watchful38 absolutely-- the original and definitive version =)

  • @monteverdi1567 Yes I totally agree! Oh, for the old LP's again. I am somewhat retro myself; I have a JVC CD Player that can holds 200 CD's. It's sort of like the mid 20th Century Juke Boxes(as in "Happy Days"). It operates on a circular frame holding all the Cd's. With my remote I can dial up any CD and Track. I've had it for at least 10 years. Nowadays the I-Pod rules. You can put 1000 CD's or more in a "match-box"! Geeze! Now I am in love with You-Yube for music & it's educational too.

  • @watchful38 cool-- but i'm not retro-- i actually owned these things as a kid LOL. But it's nice to see them rediscovered in modern media. In fact if it hadn't been for youtube etc, I would have lost some of the most valued childhood musical memories completely.

  • Gremlins!!!!!

  • @fairclought7 lol yep

  • this brings back so many fond memories! thx!

  • i miss christmas!:(

  • Many thanks for posting this-- I have always thought this was the best Christmas album ever released; unfortunately the copy I had as a boy is long vanished. It is so good to see the selections posted here.

  • @monteverdi1567

You are certainly welcome my friend.

  • @monteverdi1567 I feel the same way! We had this CD and played it every year. I cam across these songs on Youtube, and I am so happy! (:

  • @monteverdi1567 Amen and I absolutely agree. This was my favorite. Im only 45, this album was out way before me but Grandmother had it and its the one I had her play over and over... thing were so GOOD back then, ya know ? I miss those times, that love we all had for one another...

  • so many of us own absolutely nothing.

  • One person doesn't hear what I hear.

  • @grumpytosnowwhite Acually 2 :P

  • @grumpytosnowwhite Hahaha, clever one you are. Clearly they do not hear beauty.

  • "..with a tail as big as a kite"

how would the drummer boy know what a kite was in year 0 Bethlehem?

  • Thank you for the joy of great singing are the singers still making records ?

  • Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year

  • OMG, I didn't know this was released in 1962 - the year I was born. Now it's MY Christmas song. ;-)

  • Thank you for posting. We used to sing this beautiful piece at our Christmas Concerts. It's truly a "chorus" song; works best with multiple voices. MERRY CHRISTMAS & PEACE ON EARTH!

  • a star a star dancing in the night(Sirius) heralding the return of the Sun.............

  • How can someone dislike this song?

  • this is not the original version. It was done by Robert Goulet first

  • @pucchotha thanks but I didn't say it was the original version, I said it was the original one "I heard" when I was a child...have a great christmas!

  • @cajamali - It was written in October 1962 by Noël Regney and Gloria Shayne Baker as a plea for peace during the Cuban Missile Crisis and after watching babies being pushed in strollers on the sidewalks of New York City. Neither could personally perform the entire song because of the emotions surrounding the Cuban Missile Crisis. "...there was a threat of nuclear war at the time." It was released shortly after Thanksgiving in 1962. The song was originally recorded by the Harry Simeone Chorale.

  • @pucchotha yes, it is the original version. This was released in 1962. Robert Goulet's was released in 1968.

  • Very good song, but inaccurate cover. Since when does Israel get snow? XD

  • @Nonamearisto

    Climate Change =^D

  • 46 people can hear what i hear

46 people can see what i see

46 people know what i know

  • Yes, yes I KNOW! Harry recorded it first. BUT, Bing Crosby not only made it a smash hit, but he lent the authenticity to its conception. In other words, it could have failed in sales had not Bing came along and made it SOUND FANTASTIC! I mean, what can I say - Bing had it GOING ON! He made this song sound FANTASTIC! I do love Harry Simeone and his chorale, don't get me wrong. But they hit other songs more squarely than this one. Just my opinion!

  • I think it's funny that people who listen to their version of the Little Drummer Boy seem to think they are a boys choir. lol

  • this is my moms second favorite song

  • One of my favsa! OMG can't wait for Christmas!!!!

  • im so excited about singing this song in my schools chorus's holiday concert!

  • thanks for the vid :)

  • Nice one

  • There has never been a version of this beautiful song that is comparable to this classic. Finally, it is posted. Thank you.

  • @parsonsrules I don't mean to be a thorn of negative energy in your side, but the best vocal version of this song is and probably always will be Bing Crosby's. NOBODY can even near touch the marvelous dynamics of his version, and the authenticity of its approach sets it afire! This one has a wee bit of over-the-top sonorities that keep it from being the best. The best instrumental version is Percy Faith's. It has equal the dynamic fire of Bing's. But Harry Simeone OWNS Little Drummer Boy.

  • @jazzliscious13 Yes Bing's version is definitely the best. But this one isn't bad. However, The New Christy Minstrels did a version that I recently heard on MusicSpace that was done way too fast!

  • Armando, thanks for sharing this video. It's one of my favorite Christmas songs.

  • You're welcome Kalika. And thank you for subscribing to my channel :)

  • @Kalika4 love this song its so peceful

  • Thank you so much for posting this. It's the original one I heard when I was a little girl and thought it was one of the best recordings...Merry Christmas

  • You are very welcome. Merry Christmas to you too and a Happy New Year :)

  • @cajamali This is not the original version. It was done by Robert Goulet first

  • @pucchotha thanks but I didn't say it was the original version, I said it was the original one "I heard" when I was a child...have a great christmas!

  • @cajamali my mom passed four years ago but when I was little I too, listened to this..brings back WONDERFUL memoies and warms my heart ).

  • @ILVJG

I'm very heartfully sorry to hear that :'( But you know, only the good lord knows how many poor, unfortunate homeless children are still roaming on earth. I deeply wish I can rescue ALL of THEM because no one else will. It truly BREAKS my heart when they have been abandon, feeling unwanted and unloved :'(
