This was my absolute favorite game on atari 2600. I have played the coleco version and I still prefer the control and sounds of the 2600. Oh, how I'd love to play that game again. iirc, it was impossible to finish the last stage without a flash after the first time through (anyone remember that?)... those swastika enemies were just too fast!
True, the shots are kick-ass. I remember Tutankham having the same "Williams" effect in the arcades, where it had such a loud, distinctive sound that carried above the din and drew you in, heh.
All the elements are there in the console versions, although the Atari and Intellivision versions move toooo slooooooowly. As usual, the ColecoVision version is the most faithful of the early consoles.

I recently got this on Colecovision, it's quite fun. I like the Defender-style shots your guy has in the arcade one.

Oh, wow, save points :) I was always tempted to play this game, but felt like I didn't want to invest the coins to figure out how it played.
How do the home versions compare as far as playability?
