everything they said they shouldnt do nascar ended up doing from '07 onward. making a single file boring race where all the cars are equal.

That's one of the reasons that I no longer watch, and why I watch real NASCAR here on the 'Tube.

When BP says, "these (drivers) are our friends...", that was one of Winston Cup's most unique aspects; unseen in other top-level racing. I've never met them but these drivers seemed more like friends as I learned about them & watched the races; I enjoy F1, IndyCar, and the LMS/ALMS, relating to the drivers isn't easy. Until recently, NASCAR races were "43 common men...doing uncommon things".

"...they could have the cars run in line, single file, but who wants to watch that?" how ironic this quote from BP is in retrospect of the fall race this year. man how exciting Winston Cup was, especially plate racing, even without Dale Sr. and now it all has been turned into a big joke.

it was an exciting race and i do agree that NASCAR needs to something..Sadly, over the past few years they haven't been making the right changes.
