  • PREFIXING --a Verb-- 1.Add (something) at the beginning as a prefix or introduction. 2.Add a prefix or introduction to (something). It WAS a word. You and your crack judges blew it Bob Stewart!! PREFIXING is all over the web as a valid word.

  • Prefixing should have been acceptable, since it is listed as a verb.

  • Great find! Was any Jack Benny death reports uncovered along with this?

  • It does make one wonder. Did somebody have a Sony U-Matic VCR back in 1974 and tape this? They did exist but were very expensive and blank tapes were also costly. That aside it is great to see even a clip of this long gone show with Bill Cullen hosting.

  • Note the rules change since the 8/9/74 ep--as well as Don Pardo's opening spiel, with no mention of a money figure. Also note that Bill Cullen apparently prevailed upon NBC daytime head Lin Bolen to drop her "makeover" of him earlier in the series, when his hair was much longer and he wore the open collars a la Geoff Edwards--he had a tie on and shorter hair by Christmas time. T'wasn't enough, though, as this went to the toilet two days after New Years'.

  • @mtstroud Along with the original Art Fleming-hosted "Jeopardy", whose time slot "Winning Streak" took over when "Jeopardy" was moved to the noon (L.A. time) slot, following, ironically, the cancellation the Bill Cullen-hosted, Don Pardo, announced, Bob Stewart produced "Three On a Match".

  • "PRESS Your Luck". That's better.

  • The board setup looks like a premonition for "Second Chance'" and "press Your Luck". The baby blue backdrop (especially in squares) reminds me of "The Hollywood Squares".

  • PROFLIGATE would have been a good word...

  • @gatorman295 Not to mention "grapefruit".

  • BillCullenNet: Was this from a 1974 off air recording from someone taping on a U-matic 30 minute tape an episode before this of a Dennis James Name That Tune with original commercial intact from KNBC Los Angeles as he was searching for Jack Benny passing coverage or something like that (according to what I learned from the post about this on the Game Show Forums in the Video and Audio clips thread sections)?
