best actor wrong supporting actor right actress wrong supporting actress wrong animated feature right adapted screenplay right original screenplay wrong best picture right best director right 5 out of 9 ain't bad
In the extended clip when Kermode mentioned Downey being nominated, they started making funny noises, as if it was very intriguing. Which it is, since Ledger was a shoe-in for Best Supporting Actor, so the academy decided to thrown in a comedy act in one of the acting nominations.
Yea I guess, I actually thought it was a technically brilliant performance. Of course its Downey's comeback year...It is rather suspicious, but still deserving.
I get the vibe that no one cared about supporting actor this year for that reason, heath was a shoe in. imo one of the few truly deserving ones.
They didn't take any notice of him in Zodiac, or the film for the matter, the one the Fincher film that SHOULD have been nominated, not that Benjamin Button mess.
I just dont get how people like that self indulgent drag that is Benjamin Button! Slumdog Millionaire should win overwhelmingly, its one of my favourite films of all time.
FAIL!

Please...Angelina Jolie????
This guy may know movies but he knows nothing about predicting the Oscars. He barely got any of them right.

Wait what was he alluding to when he mentioned Downey being nominated before?

I feel as if this year was all about fixing last year's blunders.

He was nominated for "Chaplin."
eeocsfdo370 2 years ago
I know that but what does that have to do with what they're talking about. What exactly did that mean?
Sshelly34213 2 years ago
You were wrong. Plain and simple.

I thought it was well made but I wouldn't put it in my top 5. The plot holds it back.

slumdog has so many plot holes =/, city of god is better in my opinion and doesnt have a cliche hollywood ending
SpringSauce23 3 years ago
@SpringSauce23 I would even say City of God is better then The Godfather. Unsurprisingly I've met some fierce critisism for such a statement.

What, no Renee Zellweger clip? Mark's "I'm ugly, gimme an Oscar" rant made me laugh out loud during work today. People stared. It was awkward.
McDonagh FTW!

(1/2)
Best Actor - Mickey Rourke. Correct.
Supporting Actor - Heath Ledger. Better be or "people will die... and I'm a man of my word".
Actress - Angelina Jolie. Wrong. Can't snub Kate again, plus it's a 'worthy Nazi' movie.
Supporting Actress - Marisa Tomei. Dunno, I would have thought Amy Adams or "PENELOPAY KRUTH!"

(2/2)
Animated Feature - W.A.L.L.-E.. Yes.
A. Screenplay - Slumdog Millionaire. Doubt it.
O. Screenplay - In Bruges. Please be right.
Best Film - Slumdog Millionaire. Nah it's going to be Button because Oscars are just as political as BAFTAs.
