Here's what these guys do: They take liberals who are serious about current issues and they arrogantly mock them. Red Eye was made as an opposing force to The Daily Show or the Colbert Report, the only difference is that these guys lack humor, and substance.

It's humorous to mock people who are sanctimonious. The George Bush jokes aren't because it's just to ellicit a canned response. People who laugh are just thinking "Oh. Irony. I'm smarter than the President." But most of them aren't when you discuss heavy topics like foreign affairs. So the predictable irony isn't even real in most cases.
