My mind rebels at stagnation. Give me problems, give me work, give me the most abstruse cryptogram or the most intricate analysis and I in my own proper atmosphere. I can dispense then with artificial stimulants. but I abhor the dull routine of existence. I crave for mental exaltation. - Sherlock Holmes "The Sign of Four"
see this song is so awesome no one has even DARED dislike it! I love this melody. Its just such a fun melody. And the weird piano that they use in it was originally a used piano. In order to acchieve that sound, "we rented 20th Century Fox’s underground car parking one Sunday and did hideous things to a piano." This is quoted from Hans Zimmer himself.
@lapstudios Well actually if you listen the soundtrack of movies in general you'll find that that often happens, they create this kind of signature that they repite in the entire movie, but that's how soundtracks are, with few exceptions of course. But anyway, try listening to "i never woke up in handcuffs before", it's has a totally different tune and it's also a very good track.
@lapstudios Every composer does that, in film and in theatre as well--there's always a central theme that runs throughout the whole show, holding the entire thing together. The music just wouldn't make sense if every piece were completely different.
hanz zimmer is the #73 of composers :P

I wish I had gone to see this movie in the theaters. I'm so excited for the sequel. I'm pretty sure this is a violin, right? Maybe it's a viola...
Props on Hans Zimmer. He has now composed the score for two of my most favorite movies. Ahh, the beauty of music. :)

From 3:00 onward is probably the most beautiful strings i've ever heard. Incredibly, unbelievably moving. Such an underrated soundtrack.

Has anyone noticed how Hans Zimmer seems to compose one good track and repeat it through an entire movie to form a soundtrack?

@lapstudios ....um isn't that the point of a soundtrack? If it was all different themes, then they may as well be soundtracks to different movies...
