This incident was one specific highlight of many that made me fall in love with this part of the country...such friendly and welcoming people. I have now been in Hanoi for over a year and have been exploring the provinces. I love meeting people like this. Maybe in another year I will be able to understand her words myself...or go back and meet her son :-)
