Still the driver is the one who is ultimately responsible for allowing the bus to not stop. If the brakes failed, well, the driver has some responsibility to ensure that the brakes work before driving the bus. I'm sure the blame will get passed around nicely.

This is a accident. It happened in South Bend, IN on May 10, 2001. The bus' gas pedal got stuck, and it went onto the curb. It ran over two people. One of them was killed. The driver was temporary suspended. The bus itself, was repaired, and was back in service in July 2002, and was retired 2004. The bus that was struck, 4416 had minor damage, and was back in service in a month, but it was retired in the fall of 2002.
he has a schedule to meet and when the kerbs at the sidewalk is so low,he is tempted to juz drive onto it...waiting behind that bus might take ages or it has broken down.and maybe that guy just dashed out to catch the front bus.who knows?
