We've found the Transit Connect to be very maneuverable for a van, and with much better gas mileage than other vans -- nearly as fuel-efficient as our old Ford Focus wagon, and with much more cargo & passenger room. We moved our son into college last August in this van in one trip -- with the entire family (5 people) along to help!

This is just my opinion, but i think they should revise the ford ecoline van back to life it had space it was durable and it didn't feel like you were going to die if you got into a head on collision.. yes yes i know they probably have side curtain airbags but i like the feel alittle more overseen in my vehicle.

I'm a general Contractor and I can tell you the best vehicle for the money is the Sprinter van.

for little small buisness purposes EG: taxi, florist, pizza boy. the transit connect would be great but for a truely all purpose work vehicle I'd take a sprinter

I worked for a Ford dealership 30 minutes from my house as a parts driver. I was the only one and they switched me to a '10 Transit. I loved it! It was great on mileage, it held a lot of stuff. I was able to carry transmissions in the back. I've since moved on to another dealership where I drive an old Econoline (which broke down today) and I MISS MISS MISS the Transit. I love the Transit, I'd buy one if I had a business.

P.S. I've ebraked it in the snow, and it was FUN :)

@stc2008lt I've driven Econoline in the US and Transit in Europe, trust me the full sized transit is even better. 2.2 tdci diesel is great, its a shame diesel's aren't more popular in USA.

thats the point of the this car.. it have enough room and its light enough that it doesnt need a V6. Which is one of the biggest reason it make it the best vehicle for small businesses as you don't need to put gas every other 10 miles..

I agree that the Transit is an excellent move for Ford I think they should start using them mail trucks too. Its just like the "Dodge" or Mercedes Sprinter which considering the economy did quite well. I'm already surprised at how many Transits I see.

Unfortunately the Japanese forgot what we need in America now we no longer have rugged little mini trucks the rest of the world gets. So it looks like Ford is gonna pickup the market everyone forgot.

I drove these and other Transit variants for 4 years while i was in Uni in the UK. They are awesome vans. You Americans don't know what your missing out on. Hopefully they bring the TD variants. Lots of torque and great mileage.
