  • the engine on the 2009-present Chevrolet Equinox

    Engine

2.4 L direct injection, (flex fuel compatible, for 2012 model year) LAF I4

    3.0 L direct injection, flex fuel compatible LF1 V6

  • Chicago!!! =D

  • the 2009-present Chevrolet Equinox is assembled in

    Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada

    Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

  • nooooooooooooo

  • My equinox is the best decision I ever made. All I ever owned is American car. All of which made it over 100,000 never had manitence problems at all. You just need to take better care of your vehicles.

  • @cajunkissy79 now you own a Canadian car thanks for propping up our economy

  • @dave777blaster

Might be assembled in Canada, but the final profits stay here and you're still supporting an American company like GM. Point/Counterpoint: Say if you buy a Honda or Toyota - Sure, it might have been built here. But in the end, the final profits go back to Japan.

  • @zoomping1 your babbling makes no sense, profits go to shareholders around the world.

in the case of GM being a totally bankrupted company profits go to pay it's debts.

    I'd rather buy quality

  • i like it, would buy over toyota

  • 1:16 is that a ferrari? but dont no wat to get Terrain or Equinox

  • Yeah buy American cars so they can break every 30k miles

  • Its been a year now - Still going great like new, Mileage avg 27.

  • This car is a piece of $h it...watch out for the fender wells falling onto the road...took out my fender ,bumper...went back to dealer and they blamed me for it...said it was road hazard i must of hit something...you idiot...insurance paying for i $2300 bucks...this is the last chev product i ever own...

  • got one yesterday =]=]=]

  • @bombomb09 Not all Hyundais are made in the US. In fact less than 10% of them are.

  • @bombomb09 This has the highest mpg of any crossover.

  • we have a Terrain. we love it!

  • @bombomb09 soo thats why the Equinox has better MPG's than any other crossover/small suv.. and the traverse?? u must be a jap lover too then.. idiot

  • is this Chevrolet based on the Opel Antara or the Isuzu Captiva??

  • Should I get this or the GMC Terrain?

  • @Charles2337 lol am on the same boat as u. am thinking about the equinox

  • @jnsleeper1

Lmao yeah they both look nice x)

But I'm leaning for the Terrain because I like the more masculine look.

  • @Charles2337 hey we are deciding between the equinox and the terrain as well.

    which one did u buy?

  • @mitsubishigalant

I ended up getting a GMC Sierra... yup sorry man lol

    It's a great truck though.

  • BEST CROSSOVER EVER!

  • Jeee,,, what the heck you've been waiting for GM????? Al these years you guys offered the crappy gas guzzlers, and now taxpayers kept you barely alive, and you're putting out these wonderful cars? I mean every GM car/suv that i'm looking at i'm just loving it! I'm trading in my Honda to buy this, (or Traverse, not decided yet). .

Keep up the good work GM, we're pulling for you! Just keep Lutz in the dark, he's a little annoying!

  • For a compact SUV with same size and mpg I would rather buy the Volks Touareg and get much more off road capability when you need it.

  • @Blitz4000 Sorry bro the Touareg costs 40,000 and only gets 19mpg highway.

This costs 25,000 and gets 32mpg. There really is no comparison.

VW also has the worst quality ratings of any car company except Land Rover.

VW is a waste of money.

  • In Asia, this car is Captiva and in Korea it called Daewoo Windstorm

  • The only american SUV I would invest in would be either the chevy tahoe or the denali

  • Too bad a Tahoe with leather and a sunroof is pushing $50,000 these days. A lot of people can't afford that.

  • The 'utility' moniker in these cars is just so ridiculous. Please tell me what utility does this front wheel drive overgrown toy car offer over a sedan, wagon or mpv? Maybe you can drive over speed-bumps at higher speeds? Navigate the dangers of degrading infrastructure and potholes in the modern urban jungle?

That said as far as crossovers go this one is probably the best and the nicest. But Americans really ought to grow up, these things are just pathetic (lack of) fashion statements.

  • @ipbalkenende It's AWD

  • Americans should buy american cars.

  • (I'm so sorry for what I have to say but this really bugs me.) hey tahts a great idea. Lets limit trade. But if that wont explain it self how about this.... If your ideas or true then.. people in the midwest should only buy products made in the midwest. Then if that is true then people in oklahoma should only buy products made there. which must mean that people from ohmaha should only buy products made in ohmaha. yeah thats one way to destroy a economy

  • Yeah I know, you are supposed to have freedom of choice etc.. then yet when you buy a certain car or raise an American Flag people get all pissed off. This is supposed to be a melting pot but yet it's NOT.

  • Whatever

  • We as americans should be in this together

  • You do know all companies show non-realistic numbers when it comes to fuel consumption? It's be more realistic to say that the Equinox is around 25 MPG for the 2.4l... and not 30+ MPG like everyone is claiming.

  • @Maxxlenoxx Well that would be true if the MPG ratings were done by the company.

But they are done by the EPA. And if you drive like a normal person they are pretty accurate.

  • @danie123182 ... No, I'm saying that they say things like "up to 32 MPG", or "up to 500 miles with a full tank" when we all know that you can only get that consumption if you drive 50 MPH 100% of the time on the highway, without any passenger. I'm not questionning the EPA numbers... but the way GM uses them.

  • @Maxxlenoxx Since the 2008 model year the EPA highway numbers are measured at 65MPH with the AC on. Previous to that the EPA highway numbers were measured at 55MPH with the AC off.

That is the reason why the 2008 model year Toyota Corolla says 35MPG highway but the 2007 was rated as 40MPG highway even though they are the same exact car. When you go to fueleconomy.gov now they give you estimated numbers for 1985-2007 because they are no longer considered accurate.

  • Not if you know what brands are made in the US.

  • I had a few Hondas that were not "junk" and a Kia that is doing very well. But so tired of hearing that shit.

  • @gmman05

    That's free-market capitalism for you.

  • Well that wouldn't concern you unless you drive foriegn cars. I think a see a pattern that only ignorant fools drive foreign cars. Sure buy what you want but that's just sorry that people like that you don't care about supporting there own countries industry

  • GM's cars are always larger in exterior dimensions, but that don't usually translate into bigger interior spaces.

  • Just test drove a new Equinox--WAY better than the previus model. Decent styling, better ride, much quieter.

  • @kndrice which one is better the front wheel drive or the AWD?

  • The whole supposed 'utility' aspect of SUV or CUV always annoys me to no end. These are lifestyle vehicles, maybe even image vehicles. Sedans or wagons are utility vehicles. This looks like a pretty nice one though.

  • where is the handbrake???

  • It's most likely a pedal.

  • Hahn already makes a turbo for the 2.4 ecotec. I wonder what mileage would be if the Nox was tuned with low boost to about 225hp. Any idea?

  • 1:33 listen to the door close. A big give away in quality of materials and build. Sounds solid. I'll be test driving this weekend. Its been over a decade since I was remotely interested in GM. My dad is a retiree and I owe him and this country a chance.

  • Ignorant.

  • douche

  • imports are letting me down... :(

crv needs to stop being so ugly, and all of them need to set pace with the equinox. especially mpg-wise.

  • they can't, because 1. the crv has and will always be ugly, its ugly on the inside and only fags drive rice mobiles, so go cry some more u jap lovin douche....

  • why even bother bringing this car to being, this is truyly sickening.

  • Which is sickening the 25% gain and class leading fuel economy or the improved appearance in every way over its toy like competitors?

  • I think the Chev fronts look to be the same, just like the Pontiac fronts looked the same. I couldn't tell what the Pontiac model was until I saw the whole car.

  • I got one 2 months back ... JUST AMAZING...... I LOVE IT.

  • @rahul1248 could you please tell us what kind of gas mileage you're getting? Have you had any problems with the Vehicle?

  • @alber12111

Gas mileage : 25 to 30, No problems at all

  • @rahul1248 thanks so much. im having a real difficult time choosing between a honda crv, ford escape, and the chevy equinox. i just want to buy a vehicle that is most RELIABLE!

  • Interior design looks good but where "old" GM failed was in the materials and fit and finish more so than the design.

I hope they have it figured out here.

  • I test drove it its a nice car.

  • Oh, they do. The new interiors are very nice in terms of quality. No more shoddy fisher-price like plastic parts, everything feels solid and comfortable.

  • american cars are way too overpriced

  • I like it, better than any piece of shit asian car!

  • Better gas mileage than its competition, looks better, and drives better (test drove LT 1). Every review out there says it is better in many ways, but the people are too afraid to actually come out and declare that it REALLY is better. It's funny how they dance around saying it. They even comment on the quality being just as good.

  • Go Chevy!! 32 mpgs on a suv, damn not thats better than the toyota lam-ry

  • I hate this guys reviews. He's such a marble mouth.

  • The $25K price is clearly marked "as tested" and is the starting price for the LT model we tested. The LS base model starts just under $23 before destination.

  • at least they made this car more decent. you know American car company's should really lower there prices on there cars yeah 25K? that's a lot to start at.

  • its actually 23k

and it has plenty of standart features

  • my parents have the 05..and its a peace of shit

  • I love how you said your parents have an 05 and yet this car is coming out for 2010. Yes there are previous equinox's but not this?

  • you dont make sense..i know this car is going to be a little better and so..but in 05 u could spend your money on a way better car other then this one..what makes me wanna buy this 2010 model over another different 2010 car..lets say i buy a computer and its a total peace of crap,a new one comes out next year whats gonna make me buy it? nothing im not gonna buy it because the older model was crap..

  • Maybe because this model is a complete remake of an 05 and really not even similar anymore. But I don't make sense? Sure thing buddy.

  • its not because its American... but i dont like it.

  • Gian843 has been granted the "Most Moronic YouTube Comment Award" Congratulations!

  • what did he say

  • $25k for that thing to start?

I would suggest more like $18k.

  • thats why everybody is going towards cheaper priced imports and american cars doing so bad in the economy.

  • moaski

    That's true actually.

whith $25 you can buy Mazda CX-9 which is much better than this

  • what the hell is the point of a SUV thats FWD?

  • really nice!

  • How much do they start at?

  • I like this more than the Chevy Traverse.

  • you should've spent more time talking about the hatch. THE HATCH, I say.

  • it looks pretty good... i would take it over any japa crap any day

  • have fun wasting your money then

  • its not bad. i prolly would get it

  • It gets better mileage than my mom's Accord.

    Pretty darn good.

  • this is a NICE ride... I WANT one... and for "davewhodavedunn", dude it's only a suv, if you need one... buy another one... what's the big deal, your previous taxes went to the war on Iraq and for what!!!... US companies are trying to emerge from the difficult situation in auto industry.

I really like it, and I'm willing to give them a shot.

  • Why would anyone buy a car from a company that uses YOUR money to build the car and stay in business, and than they ask you to pay the same money as a company that hasn't taken your money and has worked harder to stay in buisness and builds more reliable cars? seems like a no brainer to me, FUCK GOVERNMENT MOTORS!

  • I agreee, I'd only buy Ford at this point, i'm tired of all american car company's though.

  • YouTube is fucking my internet connection in the ass with no lube

  • The front looks like a Saturn VUE

  • its suppose to look like a saturn vue. they both have the same platform.

  • Comment removed

  • the shot at 0:21 makes it look almost like the rear of an M class, almost

  • yeah it kinda does

  • looks good for a chevy crossover

  • Really?I think it looks decent.

  • It looks good actually.

  • yeah it is ugly....the old one was nicer (i think)
