The 'utility' moniker in these cars is just so ridiculous. Please tell me what utility does this front wheel drive overgrown toy car offer over a sedan, wagon or mpv? Maybe you can drive over speed-bumps at higher speeds? Navigate the dangers of degrading infrastructure and potholes in the modern urban jungle?

You do know all companies show non-realistic numbers when it comes to fuel consumption? It's be more realistic to say that the Equinox is around 25 MPG for the 2.4l... and not 30+ MPG like everyone is claiming.

But they are done by the EPA. And if you drive like a normal person they are pretty accurate.

@Maxxlenoxx Since the 2008 model year the EPA highway numbers are measured at 65MPH with the AC on. Previous to that the EPA highway numbers were measured at 55MPH with the AC off.

That is the reason why the 2008 model year Toyota Corolla says 35MPG highway but the 2007 was rated as 40MPG highway even though they are the same exact car. When you go to fueleconomy.gov now they give you estimated numbers for 1985-2007 because they are no longer considered accurate.
