Shuggie and the fireflies were intriguing! First time I saw them after years, not since I was a child! I am downloading the Shuggie videos to see them again and again which the internet does not permit!!

there are bugs at the beach that glow

they look like someone tossed a cinder then they fade

very strange.

I've seen fireflies in kansas/midwest. very interesting little critters. I wonder if they bite or sting humans? er are they friendly? some insects are friendly you know?

yes fireflies are nice little critters. your beach bugs sound very similar. that's a good way to describe them, as cinders. fireflies don't bite or anything, and they are pretty slow fliers, so you can catch them fairly easily. i believe they are what you'd call "bioluminescent". they are really cool as far as bugs go. :) ladybugs too. shuggie loves both of those.

I love fireflies. They come to our screens at night and light them up. Kairi is always in bed too early to see them. Someday I will have to let her stay up. Thats too funny that she wanted to set them free in the house! :)

well they are something to see. they're bioluminescent or some such thing. that is, they GLOW! they didn't seem to want to glow all caged up though. in our backyard they light up a lot. they are very pretty and gentle insects. :)
