look here naturallu aspirated or air forced induction, honda owns racing dev. its as simple as that. we have all these manu and teams bickering about stealing technologies such as that with ferrari and mercedes when they are both ripping it off of hondas racing res and dev. ok. period. there should be no doubt after this and there will be nothing as brutal and ruthless, only jdm dev runs it now until the end. its as simple as that.
dude honda as a engine manu owns all ur base. who is the one that is talking about the greatest engine manu ever? go ask GM where ALL their senior dev comes from. prolly some dude who is some mustang v8 jebroni. hey kid listen here. general motors stands for general motors and the engines they dev are general. shut your mouth and what how dev advances.
If you read the description this video is circa 2001. They are normally aspirated engines built by Mugen, I believe 3500 cc at the time, dependent on JGTC race rules at the time. Nobody at the team would admit it then, but it was rumored they revved to 14K rpms! Man, if only I can get a hold of one of those engines and stick it in my NSX...
man, I love this series of racing. Like...100 times more entertaining then NASCAR. They should totally at least televise it in the US, even if the commentators are speaking Japanese, I wouldn't care.
Thats great racing too. In the US they just race, over here they have fun with it. Ive seen footage of actual JGTC races at suzuka and they get as close as they can to pit wall before preperarign for the turn. Like in this vid.
fucking awesome. Its shows the level of expertise of the people who tune those engines. Theyre six cylinders yet they sounds like F1 V10's. brilliance.
It's not an actual race, it's just a practice run. Anyway, I love the JGTC (now SuperGT) and I wish they would go completely international and race in America.
They tried last year at the California Speedway. It wasn't an official race with points, more like trying out the waters out here. I don't hear them coming back this year, so maybe they thought it didn't work out. But last year's race here was a blast, every team was there.
It is a demo run conducted at their yearly national NSX meet, not an actual race. Normally spectators don't get this close to the cars, we were right up at the pit wall!

Very well tuned V6

Mugen, some of the best tuners in the world. Google 'Mugen Legend V8' and you should see they tuned a N/A 4.0L V8 for 590 bhp.
Simply Amazing!

Lol, they rev to no where like that.. they are turbocharged after all.
They have close to 500ps @ around 7000rpm.
legendofenglbert 4 years ago
these NSX's are in the GT500 class so they have around 460-500hp. A magizine I have says they run a v6 TT at 493hp. 3,000cc displacement, etc etc.
cloud75x 4 years ago
I swear some of the NSX's were naturally aspirated for near 500hp. Were they all really turbo? Maybe the earlier ones.
HKSkyushu 3 years ago 2
Nope all of the JGTC is N/A no turbo lol.
