If a craft that big had been up over Phoenix, even in the out skirts of the city, the city that I live in, The craft would have been photographed and seen, and not just lights.
I can go out on any given night and take a photo that will show the bottom of a flying cessna aircraft.

The Phoenix Lights were flares.
If a craft that big had been up over Phoenix, even in the out skirts of the city, the city that I live in, The craft would have been photographed and seen, and not just lights.
I can go out on any given night and take a photo that will show the bottom of a flying cessna aircraft.

We're not so familiar in the West with the spiritual accomplishments of Eastern mystics, and of shamans worldwide. And science studies only a narrow model of Reality, rather than Reality such as it is on its own terms. Mystics and shamans are reputed to know how to package ones consciousness in a ball of light and travel about in this way, free of bodily constraints. A clue, perhaps.

@parlezuml I have no idea. I've only heard of reports of advanced spiritual adepts' being able to travel in spheres of light, large and small. How they do it is indeed a mystery than someone should investigate. Meanwhile, science works within a MODEL of Reality. Like rationalism, it does not deal with Reality such as it is on its own terms. For that, you have to get into mysticism. But science still is of practical use. The Dalai Lama has written books encouraging scientists to become mystics.

I actually saw something similar to this a few years back in southern Germany. There were 3 or 4 of these "lights", but they hardly moved at all.
Thats the reason why I believe in these stories. Not all of them however.
