Because Goosefeather siad that he got a message from starclan saying that WindClan would Destroy ThunderClan if they didn't act first and the only way was to Destroy Windclan's Medicine Cat suplies and Hawkheart was the Medicine cat of the time but he was a Warrior before he was a Medicine Cat like Yellowfang was first and the reason Moonflower was there in the fiorst place is cause she was in charge of destroing the supplies. so theres the whole story for you
