Don't buy this food solely because of the commercial. Blue, Nature's Variety, and other MEAT based food is better, NO CORN or BY PRODUCTS. Pedigree food is cheap, because its made with cheap ingredients.
I totally agree, its GREAT Pedrigree helps stray dogs...BUT...you don't HAVE to buy Pedigree to help stray dogs...how about instead...adopting one? That helps. And if you can't adopt, donate to your LOCAL rescue. If you paid say $10 for bag of Pedigree, only a few CENTS of that money goes to shelters. How about instead, you donate a a few dollars directly to your local shelter? Or volunteer?
yeah, its true about these adverts.Everyone loves to see a dog get a new home and be happy, but its a shame that they use these images that tug at peoples hearts to sell a substandard dog food.I wouldnt give pedigree to an old stray
@IwontConform Well, Pedigree is the only dog food that helps shelters and dogs in need. They donate food and money to those who dedicate their lives to dogs. I love that Pedigree helps. And good deeds, no matter what for, should be celebrated.
God bless all the good people that have adopted homeless doggies (that includes me, he,he). These dogs are so much better behaved, a lot more loving, and incredibly grateful, it's as if they knew you did something nice for them.
I really want to adopt another shelter dog, but I already have 5. My mom wont let me and it makes me so mad I cry over it...Alot! I wish she could understand...
@TheBreeTanner - There are several wonderful outfits you can give $ to so that shelter dogs get adopted. You can also support our troops and save their pets by giving to BAGHDAD PUPS. Soldiers often find and adopt dogs and cats in war zones though the Army has official rules against it -- but the SPCAI has stepped in to make sure these animals are taken to the soldiers' families in the U.S., Canada and U.K.
@TheBreeTanner i know what you mean. There are so many wonderful dogs that need homes, and we want to adopt ALL of them to save them from certain death, but we cant.
@fecesforjesus420 The shelters are not to blame it's the owners of the dogs that find that cute puppys get big and become dogs and find them not so cute anymore and dump them in over crowded shelters where there is more dogs than peaple wanting them.
My Oliver was also adopted from a shelter and he looks just like the other little dog featured on this pedigree commercial with Oliver. Check him out at the top of this page. Yesterday, I went to the shelter again and brought us a new family member, Fred. If I can give him half of the love Oliver gives me everyday, he will be the happiest little dog in the world! Adopt from a shelter, you won't regret! Peace!
This is one of the coolest commercials ever! I like the fact the Oliver's voice is a middle aged man. It sends a subtle message out that there are many adult dogs our there that need good homes.
to see Oliver run @ 0:13...bounding along in his new backyard...just so happy with a new pal...his sweet mixed up, dear face. I'd like to hear from the owner to see how he is doing.
My dog Rocsi looks IDENTICAL to Oliver, she is what is known as a broken coat Jack Russell Terrier, Oliver definitely is jack Russell, the facial markings pretty much give that away. Hope this helps!
How can people just give away a pet because he or she is not a puppy or kitten anymore. That is so not cool. Everyone gets old. I wish I could go to the humane shelter and take home a few to help but I am a pet parent three times over already.
To Kotonete83: that is cool I have two dogs and a cat so I understand. Sorry if I seemed cranky I had just watched somemore videos and it broke my heart that someone would just give a dog away because he was getting older. One of mine is almost 14 and I will cry a river if I ever lose her. I hope you are having a better day. If you ever want to vent I am also on facebook.
Yes, I am glad he got adopted... Of course he did! 1st, he was in an ad. 2nd, he is still a lively puppy, healthy and playfull. The sick and the old ones who don't know how to play are left to death... That's what I call ironical.
Ah ah ah, I know, I was having a bad day... But I can't help thinking on this. So far, I like Oliver, but I prefer my old dog that nobody would want. :D
I wanted a dog like Oliver, drove my friends crazy. Walked into a dog shelter and walked out with a dog like Oliver except it was an Olive. She is just as crazy as Oliver. We love her to bits. A happy ending for a rescued puppy mill dog.
I adopted a dog that looks EXACTLY like Oliver. We had a dna test done on her and the results said she was part Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and part West Highland Terrier.
My dog looks almost exactly like that too. Slightly different, though. His nose isn't black, it's slightly reddish and his coat is slightly lighter. Do you remember how much the DNA test cost?
well this is my dog for all you out there and in the end yeah thats me... it was a home video until my mom whos a commercial producer sent it in and they made it for the adoption drive. oliver is a very good dog and he follows mt mom everywhere! and when i say everywhere he sleeps in her bed!!!!!!
The original video with Oliver waiting for someone to adopt him was one of the most haunting I've ever seen. To see him in his new home, so joyful and loved is inspiring. Thank you for saving him, I wish all dogs could be so fortunate.
HOLY CRAP! Oliver looks exactly like my dog, Rascal. And we saved him from a shelter 2! And Rascal's best friend is yorkie 2! Rascal ran away and shot a commercial! Lol :-)
Great!!!! Lucky dog and good person who adopt him. God bless! ...I have 7 dogs and 5 of them I took them from the streets, I love my dogs!. One of my dogs has lost in the mountain by 9 days and today he appear, I`m so happy, is a miracle. Thanks St. Francisco de Asís... Daniela (Chile)
Im from mexico.. and here, we have a seriuos problem with people who doesnt care about dogs, theres a lot of them on the streets, its very sad just walk a few blocks an see a lot of dogs in pain... and nobody takes care.
I adopted two dogs, they don't look like Oliver at all, but they are really cute and I love them both. One I found on the street, she was so skinny it took a few months to hide those bones, the other one was beeing sent to a dog shelter by the vet but when I saw her I just needed to bring her home. They are beatiful and happy dogs now, and I love them very much. People should think better before buying pets, there are many dogs and cats in need for a home and a family.
A lot of people seem to want to know what kind of dog he is so they can adopt one like him. I'd suggest that people not be too fixated on a particular dog. Do some homework on what kind of dog is right for you, then go and adopt yours. The dog you find may not look like Oliver here, but you'll love him no less. I wouldn't have adopted a dachshund, but one wound up in my home and now I won't part with Max, period.
What sucks is these commercials are so awesome, but Pedigree food is not much better than Old Roy. Corn and by-products makes up the brunt of that food. Plus dyes. Wolves don't raid corn fields. And wolves don't eat the nasty parts of the animals that have no nutrients, like beaks, and hooves. By-products also are often eyes, organs, and fetuses. I wish Pedigree's nutrition would match its awesome advertisement campaign.
@sirensgrotto Exactly Im Glad someone pointed this out ! I would love to buy pedigree for the purpose of helping the adoption drive but they're ingrediants are not something i would want to feed my dogs. Im a Veterinarian Technition I would know. I TOO wish Pedigree's nutrition would match its awesome advertisement campaign.
@sirensgrotto Actually...Pedigree is the only food approved by TIF. Which makes it extremely good enough as to reach HUMAN CONSUMPTION. The only one. Also, it contains no SOY beans. No other brand can say the same.
Does anybody know what kind of dog he is? Or even what kinds of dog. I can tell he's a terrier, but my dear god, he's so CUTE!!! Every time I see this commercial I can't help but smile :)
I agree. Every time I see that commercial I get up and do a little dance. With all the garbage on t.v. these day's.. it's so refreshing to have something that makes your heart smile... I think it's a combination of Oliver and the music tune.. It is perfectly matched.
Thank you for posting this. I love this commercial. I never tire of seeing a happy story such as this one. Good for you, Oliver! And good on Pedigree for doing good work.
It's that damn voice that gets me. My little girl speaks with and English accent (she's a Pit Beagle from Dallas Tx) But I wish everyone could hear a humans voice when they see a dog and know it's time to adopt one.
what a cute dog, the cutest part was when the dog poked out of the basket, i cried a lil it's so sweet that he got adopoted, the dog is too cute to pass up!
I hope Pedigree keeps making these commercials; I swear I'll NEVER get tired of them - I promise! I love the way they film them! Down low on dog-eye level!! :)
Oliver is so cute :-) I wish I could take all the dogs and cats and other hungry, abused animals in the world, and just give them all a place to live.
Oliver is so cute :-) I wish I could take all the dogs and cats and other hungry, abused animals in the world, and just give them all a place to live.
I never saw this one on TV! GO OLIVER!!!! How great is that!! I am balling my eyes out!! Pedigree you are amazing to do this!! You are making these shelter animals the stars they were always meant to be!! THANK YOU!!
Tell us something, Drew, is it your genious that makes you a miserable sod, or were you just born that way? There's this great book out there... been around for years. It's called "The Power of Positive Thinking". Do yourself a favor... buy one... today.
excellent, nice to see a result like that its just a shame all dogs cant be so lucky, show your support by buying the pedigree adoption drive t-shirt to help dogs like oliver
jirdimaster ("they always use that guy that sounds like a child molester."): The voiceover is done by David Duchovny, of "X-Files" fame. It's been reported he's doing it pro-bono; now that's a decent human being! :)
Well clearly the reaction would have to prove that there must be some substance involved. This is further evidenced by your inability to focus on my original point. As for the 'computer' I am sure that all people who have given to the hungry have warm, well equipped homes, computers included...to say the least. I await anxiously for you to prove me wrong.
Great question....except nowhere in my original or secondary statement did I say, or even imply, that we should let dogs starve. I am simply poking fun at the related reality and how out of touch many of us have gotten, myself included, with the bitter realities of the world. I know I know...people don't like when I interject things like that when we're watching a cute puppy....but much like pulling my sisters hair...I do it for the reaction.
If I'm not mistaken, you just quoted the bible...your inferior intelligence has just been confirmed. And remember, we can all find quotes that support what we believe.
Please! My dog has suffered from gastrointestinal disease since he was a puppy. I have been through every dog food on and off the market. It's just like "people food". Some foods we react to with no problem, and some we are allergic to. It depends on the person and the animal. We have finally found a food that works for us - I don't care what's in it. Let's get back to the subject at hand: Pedigree is making a stand for shelter dogs. Awareness is the first step. Bravo Pedigree!
Don't buy this food solely because of the commercial. Blue, Nature's Variety, and other MEAT based food is better, NO CORN or BY PRODUCTS. Pedigree food is cheap, because its made with cheap ingredients.

Oliver is so cute :-) I wish I could take all the dogs and cats and other hungry, abused animals in the world, and just give them all a place to live.

Wonder how much they donate compared with how much they spend on the ad campaign talking about how they donate...

Tell us something, Drew, is it your genious that makes you a miserable sod, or were you just born that way? There's this great book out there... been around for years. It's called "The Power of Positive Thinking". Do yourself a favor... buy one... today.

These commercials are really cute but they always use that guy that sounds like a child molester.
jirdimaster 4 years ago
lmfao i agree! omg i just lol'd
kekisme 4 years ago
jirdimaster ("they always use that guy that sounds like a child molester."): The voiceover is done by David Duchovny, of "X-Files" fame. It's been reported he's doing it pro-bono; now that's a decent human being! :)

aww thats cute
what breed is it?
scatteam2 4 years ago 3
I'd go with "Cutest Mutt Ever" but a lot of people seem to think he's a Paron's Russell Terrier or a West Highland Terrier. Or some mix of both...
doglover5353 4 years ago
the other dog that appears in the bacground with him is a cairn terrier. my guess is that he has some of that in him. either way, he's perfect.

I literally clapped I was so happy he got him a home

Well clearly the reaction would have to prove that there must be some substance involved. This is further evidenced by your inability to focus on my original point. As for the 'computer' I am sure that all people who have given to the hungry have warm, well equipped homes, computers included...to say the least. I await anxiously for you to prove me wrong.
Introsept 4 years ago
Great question....except nowhere in my original or secondary statement did I say, or even imply, that we should let dogs starve. I am simply poking fun at the related reality and how out of touch many of us have gotten, myself included, with the bitter realities of the world. I know I know...people don't like when I interject things like that when we're watching a cute puppy....but much like pulling my sisters hair...I do it for the reaction.

If I'm not mistaken, you just quoted the bible...your inferior intelligence has just been confirmed. And remember, we can all find quotes that support what we believe.

ElkaM00 4 years ago
He's definitely got Westie (West Highland White Terrier) in him. He may even be a purebred pup. Too cute!
HeatherSolsvik 4 years ago
I must say, Oliver was my favorite, so I really like this commercial.

Oliver looks so happy with his new family that makes me happy too :-)

LisaCarrier 4 years ago
i heard puppy chow isnt good either. it makes the puppies grow TOO fast, faster than they are supposed to. i use IAMS
BLASTtheMUSICxx 4 years ago
Great commercial. But i WOULD never recommend pedigree as a dog food, or iams, or dog chow, etc. All bad foods
PinayTiger 4 years ago
Pedigree is really good food for dogs. It has everything they need to thrive and at a really good price. And, they have heart.
threeleibos 4 years ago
They have heart, but bad ingredients.
