i was kicking it back than when this rola came out and i still am. This was one of the rolas that the homies used to ride are cheveys all lowered to the ground and our Sir Guys, Friscos and French Toes(Karcos) and we were Bonaroo !!!!
Richard Blandon, the lead singer was fabulous on this recording. It was recorded in New York in 1959. The guitar was played by Rene Richards. George Goldner, the Producer, said upon hearing the song "It's just another doo wop song" He was wrong.
this song catapults me to the past, which was so beautiful, and innocent. maybe we can someday relieve those beautiful memories one day in the future, even if only in my dreams.
Thanks so much for bringing back these old Doo Wops...A person would have to be completely without feelings to not be touched by them...Thanks also to YouTube for making it possible...
This is great music all the Doowops wish they still played it like years ago.....At least there were great understandable language.. Not like todays music rap shooting up drugs and killing people in the songs its all sad....
@akeoldies I just wanted you to realize as long as you listen to these songs of the past that they are not gone forever. If you play them for your children and grand children they listen and may ask you questions about that era. If you are from that time period tell them. You will be surprise of there interest. I you are not from that era take the time to learn. Keep listening and check out time, life and look magazines from those year's.
Can you believe the alto sax on this great song! The R&B listeners of today are really clueless as to these great artists and their music. Mostly to blame are young DJ' s, who
are not knowledgeable ,and lump together all this great talent
under the title of "oldies", thus not playing the records and
Just had the pleasure of seeing this group August 13th. They were awesome! Their voices and harmony are still perfection and they are one good looking group of men. They also had a female guitar player who sang one song; also fantastic.
Great song...takes me to the 8th grade...the only record by the Dubs that was better is "Be Sure My Love"...fantastic group...this is a best of the Dubs CD....great stuff.
I remember hearing this song for the first time at Camille Lazalotta's 8th grade graduation party from St. Luke's School, Whitestone, NY. I also remember Frank DeStafano playing the drums.

Listen to this song. Then listen to any of today's R&B. You'll agree the R&B artists of today suck by comparison.
