  • Awwww is the little Fart's fur silky soft? =)

  • what happened to the mother?

  • @larouxfanforever read teh description.....nothing happened

  • AWWWWW CUTE

  • No, it's a natural 'defense reaction' for the baby to drop and not move when a 'predator'

or threat is near. I'm sure it's mum 'barked' at some point as you were coming out to cut

the grass and the baby reacted by 'dropping' and not moving. The predator thinks it's dead and moves along. Goggle it and see. Cheers! = ]

  • I think its dead :|

  • It looks dead.

  • Gross

  • most cutest thing i ever saw this evening :)

  • it looks dead and you are nasty @irishgermanscotch

  • They are too cute

  • its so cute

  • so cute:)!)

  • In his head he's thinking: "PLEASE DON'T EAT ME!!!!"

  • the fawn is laying still as a defence mechinism.

  • That's really amazing. Anyone who trolls you and freaks about you touching it, ef' them. The mother left it in your yard, a yard that I'm sure has human scent from one end to the other. So obviously humans are the least of her worries (maybe she knows that more dangerous predators like wolves, bears ect would avoid your property?) Glad you saw it before your tractor ran over it. Amazing how they just lie out flat like that.

  • The myth about spelling people on babies and then abandoning them has been defunked =3

  • Ignore the idiots that watched one "Animal Cops" programme and now think they know everything regarding wildlife. This is a really sweet video :)

  • @SerionMe SERIOUSLY!!!! its an animal its not vermin! deer are sweet innocent creatures, especially when theyre fawns. they have no problem with us so why should we have a problem with them

  • @irishgermanscotch Grind it up and rub the guts between my teeth. MMMmmmm

  • GREAT NOW I HAVE TO FIND ADDY9098's COMMENT! >.<

  • @SquirrelVEVO 1. see all 2. ctrl + f type any9098

  • you sir are a lucky person

  • The mother will NOT reject the fawn because of human scent--nor will it hurt them in any way.

That is an old wives tale (and you can validate with experts by 'Search' ing on the web).

  • @dezfortytwo And don't use Wikipedia Internet Trolls. XD

  • @pooopooo566 not likely

  • @pooopooo566 that would be mean!!

  • @pooopooo566 well it should have came with its parents and bucked your freaking

    face

  • Wait, I thought deer had ticks or something? D:

  • I'm in the cute animal part of youtube

  • Awww dats soo cute.

  • Has the head of a chuawua (the dog,I think that is how you spell it.....) but the back of a deer

  • feed it dummy!

  • @MeChelleMyBellPhilly If you feed it it will never leave !

  • iv worked with animal/wildlife rehabilitation for about two years and gotta say that iv very rarely seen a baby animal get rejected by its mom because of human scent! iv handled baby birds, squirrels, woodchuck, opossum, rabbits and one fawn. and every chance i got to put the baby back with its mom has been successful. its not like her shot it or hit it with the mower..

  • @punkskamp420 I've always thought it was just small rodents that did this, because they heavily rely on scent. I can't see a bird or deer being bothered by what is clearly their baby smelling a little bit strange.

  • @LightninLew everyone thinks birds will abandon their young if they smell you but the truth is the birds you see in your back yard cant smell... i don't know about some of the birds of prey but i kinda doubt it. they rely heavily on eye sight.

  • @TheNekkidOne Ignore the negative comments; you're obviously a kind man with a good heart. Greetings from England :)

  • Hope mamma took her back w/ human scent all over it! But I couldn't resist either!

  • so cute!

  • i woke up yesterday and there was a baby deer sleeping with its mom in my bed room and i was like WHAT THE FUCK when i woke up and startled it whitch made i takle the door and left its baby and i took care of it for about 3 weeks and its mothe returned

  • @thevics123 thats a lie =D

  • did you bring it to the animal doctor after you saw it like that?

  • The mother never would have left her fawn on a lawn if she were afraid on humans. They don't abandon their young because they "smell" like they been touched. It is a gift to have been able to pet this little one and I would have done the same thing. Pretty sweet.

  • who cares i would touch it also xD, i wouldnt be able to resist.

    .

  • Not moving is a defense mechanism for fawns. It is so that other animals will (hopefully) leave them alone. :)

  • They are majestic creatures... I captured one on video as well. This one is very beautiful, it's too bad it didn't move a little bit more for the camera. By the way, you should probably be a little nicer to your viewers. They are making you money... so maybe you shouldn't get so mad at them. Wether they like the video or not... you are still getting paid for that ad. ;-)

  • @BlueEyedSoul21 thanks. and actually this is the first day the ads have run. anyway, early on after posting this i was attacked repeatedly about touching the fawn. i have tried to be patient with commenters and not tried to be rude. remember the tone of voice is not evident in my replies so its hard to get the true tthought bhind the reply

  • @TheNekkidOne don't worry about mean comments about touching the fawn, i would have probably done the same thing. it is hard not to be at least a little curious i mean like just look at it, it is so dang cute but you probably changed your mind after it attacked you :)

  • @TheNekkidOne I was thinking of using the ads to make money on Youtube...how much do you usually get paid?

  • @TheNekkidOne You get attacked because people are idiots. It really doesn't matter what kind of video you put up but animal vids seem to bring out the "special" morons. The mother won't abandon the baby because you touched it and you could say that 5 million times and tattoo it on your head and you will always have people whining at you for touching it. Great video and thank you for sharing :)

  • @BlueEyedSoul21 um sorry for being nosy but what do you mean when you say that he is getting paid for the add?

  • @j23siempre

If you notice about 9-10 seconds into the video, a little ad pops up on the bottom of the video, He gets paid for everytime his video is clicked on. It's usually a fraction of a cent. But it adds up quick. ;-)

  • @BlueEyedSoul21 Haha the reason why he's harsh to viewers is because well believe it or not, people are stupid as hell. -.-; This world is full of morons. Then you got PETA on your ass and they bitch about everything, its highly annoying. So therefore, harsh descriptions are needed. But you can't make a website idiot proof yet.

  • HOW CUTE i almost cried

  • @Beastbaby8432 I ran over it with my lawnmower. sowwy!

  • jesus where do you guys live. that is awesome. all i have is niggers staring me down while im trying to pump gas.

  • its not dead dummies

  • awwww

  • lol. I OWN a fawn. hahahahaaa

  • Wow where is everyone finding these fanws at lol

  • Anybody who thinks the fawn is dead, is dumb. Dead animals have rigamortis, and are all stiff. Baby deer have two ways of staying hidden: 1) their spots are their camouflage, and 2) their instincts make them freeze up. Thanks to TheNekkidOne for showing this--it is so cool to be able to see a real baby deer, and also cool to see a big guy admiring, and being gentle to a tiny, helpless creature.

  • The interesting thing about deer is that if the fawn gets a scent on it that the mother dosen't like, she wont abandon them, she will just clean them off.

  • Sooooo Adorable!!!!! Thank you for posting so others can see too! ...and secretly envy....

  • Deers do that. It is a defense mechanism. :)

  • IT'S SOOOOOO TINY!!!!!!!

  • is it dead

  • @addy9098 seriously? why would i pet a dead fawn?

  • @TheNekkidOne lmfao

  • @TheNekkidOne lmfao!!! ahh so funny!!

  • @TheNekkidOne Well... Lots of people pet dead deer... To see if there alive...

  • @zoebybug really? so you've actually seen this happen? and how many are LOTs? i think you just realized what you said and are trying to save facek anyway, if you had read the decription before commenting you would have had your answer. have a good day and thanks for watching

  • @TheNekkidOne

I like to pet dead things and things that are alive that I want to pet I kill to pet it...

  • @TheNekkidOne i pet dead dear

  • @TheNekkidOne Maybe u wanted to see if it was dead. OR you are a sicko god I don't know you. How do u think I am... Superman or something

  • @70today did you not read the information about this video? most of your comment is hard to understand since it is very poor english. makes it difficult to answer you since I am unable to decipher your post.

  • @addy9098 did you read the inscription?

  • @addy9098 You are retarded

  • this was soooo cute! wish i was there to pet it to!! you were lucky :). thanks for sharing!!!

  • I used to be a fawn then a dumbass decided to touch me!

  • :D

  • So... tiny.... :D

  • that is so cute! :D

  • soo teeny!

  • Killit... killit.....killit... ha ha JK such a cute fawn :D.

  • hattay isay osay utecay! (that is so cute)

  • aww well i think that it's very cute & also, you CAN pet a baby fawn and it doesn't mean the mom won't take it back that's a common misconception so people should just... be quiet. Soo cute,

  • So cute! Mom might have gotten mad though if she saw. Still cute!

  • the fawn is like "ooh oh yeah right there ooooh yeah thats the spot" :)

  • @Allison12342 no one asked you or forced you to watch. you must have a great life if this is how you spend you time, commenting on things that waste your time.

  • @Allison12342 lol is that all you got? nice comeback lol

  • @Allison12342 seriously? are you 12 or what? go away....you will be deleted

  • @Allison12342 You shouldn't be on youtube if you're twelve you idiot.

  • @TheNekkidOne

I think he was a troll. someone who enjoys stirring up crap

  • @TheNekkidOne lol that allison is one dumbo...

  • @Allison12342 Wow,suck it up

  • well, when it comes to birds at east it turned out to be a myth that mothers will reject children who smell like humans. One guy probably saw it once and it became a fact. I assume that it is similar with deer.

However you should still have not touched the deer because it was awake but playing dead. Its the only defense they have while the mother is away. So you may have thought you were petting it, but it is not a dog. It was scared shitless of you. It could have had a heart attack.

  • @chesterbesterfeild lolol a heart attack lololo

  • LOVE THE EYES

  • na, the mother only rejects the kid if she's a crack whore....

  • @Phallusinvictus hahahahaaha

  • the akward moment where the two top comments are the same...

  • you guys should be happy he helped the animal where i would turn it to soup great size for the kettle

  • @JoeyPitnerLikeDick how did he help the animal i wanna know??? because if anything he dangered the animal!!!! and btw your username is STUPID and disgusting!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who would have an issue with this? It's very touching.

  • @RetroSally75 i know right? Its so cute :3

  • So happy you saw it before an accident happened. You're quite lucky to have gotten to witness such a beautiful creature so close!

  • is it alive? :(

  • ha q lindo

  • Deer will lay their fawns down and the mother goes about 100 yards away before the mother lays down for the day. The reason why is that a fawn is born with absolutely no scent for about the first 2 weeks of its life. The mother has scent. The mother does that so a predetor will smell her and go after her before going after the baby. Other than visually, the fawn will be virtually undetectable by predetors giving it better odds in survival.

  • I'm glad you saw it before running it over the the mower! That would have been horrible. :(

@abbylofesyew, no, baby deer (and other baby animals) often lay very still as most animals that would eat it can't really see an unmoving object, or, may think the unmoving animal is not a fresh kill and won't eat it.

  • the reason your mother told you that animals reject their young if a human touches it, is cuz she didnt want you to do something stupid like try n pet wild animals

  • ... Is it dead ?

  • most animals wont reject their babies after humans touch them . that myth as been passed by generation to generation. if that myth is true, then why do dogs and cats and pigs and cows and etc etc, keep helping their babies. animals protect as best as they can . some animal need human assistance. and animals apprecitate it in their own way.

  • Better make sure it has a heartbeat ;)

  • looks dead

  • @HarcoreNARWAL your right

  • how come so many fawn do that? they just lay on the ground and let you pet them/ come up to them??

  • @amanderpander24 its instinct..they lay still hoping you will leave them alone.....its how they hide in the wild from coyotes and stuff

  • @amanderpander24 It is a defense mechanism. They rely on being hidden and nondetectable which is why they don't give off an odor, either. Fawns have a quite advanced anti-predation system, you should go research it, very interesting. At least I think so. It is not usually a good idea to approach them though because one, you are aiding in predators detecting them and second because deer can and have killed people, a mother dear won't think twice about kicking you in the head.

  • @rylraven13 Yup, Not worried about the mother abandoning the fawn, that's a myth. But having an angry mother come after you is a whole other thing. I once stumbled over a baby deer on a field, literally tripped on it. then, when i was getting back up, a Doe was charging me. I was 11 at the time and it was terrifying.

  • @amanderpander24

Inside forests or with lots of trees the white spots are supposed to look like sun shining through the trees

  • Don't listen to the idiots. It's an old wives tale anyway, I touched plenty of baby animals..even birds eggs. The mothers always came back. Just enjoy the beauty of someone appreciating wildlife.

  • Goodness. They're not very big are they? About the size of a large cat.

  • dude, i can't tell if that's the deer or the man breathing so hard........

  • awww so cute!!

  • Awwww ;D

  • If the mom didnt take it back you could...keep it until it were old enough to survive alone. Lots of people have pet deer :)

  • Petting the deer is not going to hurt it. Or mom reject it. That fawn was doing exactly what a fawn is suppose to do after it's born. Lay down, be still and wait for mom to return, even after several hours. She will return. That's why so many people make the mistake thinking a fawn has been abondon by it's mom and keep it for a pet. He did what other "pet people" SHOULD DO. Get a good look & wait for mom to drag it by the ear back home saying," I told you to stay outta those people's yard !!"

  • Cuteness overload!!!!

  • You guys are freaking idiots. My friend HELD a baby deer and it wasn't rejected. Shut up already

  • Comment removed

  • @4trivedi if you will read the description again you will see that i mentioned the mother was NOT dead

  • people people people. Human potency is not as strong as you think, as with any other animal the mother will not abandon the baby even if it can smell anything at all

  • cute but once again it is a wild animal and the mother may reject the fawn or buck if touched by human hands

  • @ghettolives and again you are wrong just like all the others that have posted this fairy tale.

  • @TheNekkidOne it true..thats all a myth- ive worked it a wildlife rehab vet for 10 years- its a 100% complete myth

  • @TheNekkidOne ITS NOT A FRIGGIN FAIRYTALE LOOK IT UP YOUR SO STUPID!!!!!

  • @122firedragon oh very nice and mature, I don't need to 'look it up, as I actually know the facts/truth. evidently you don't read the other comments from others that actually do know facts and not word of mouth or something you were told by your parents to keep you from touching....i will refrain from calling you names or demeaning your lack of knowledge as you obviously are incapable of the same courtesy.

  • @TheNekkidOne how do you know if you're right?

  • @MewPhantomCandy about what? that the fawn was not abandoned? i saw it almost everyday after this event and into adulthood. not sure i see it anymore since there are so many deer around here.

  • @TheNekkidOne I simply asked a question XP

    rage fast much? OuO

  • @MewPhantomCandy just trying to answer your question....why is that considered rage? was just a simple answer, however i do understand that my tone of voice coukd not be heard so you assumedd i was angry? if so, then i guess i misunderstood the tone of your question which was probably snarky. either way, no rage was in my answer at all, have a nice day

  • @ghettolives actually the mother's will and instinct to protect the baby overpowers the fact her baby smells like human. but yes best thing to do is to leave it alone since the mother usually comes back at nite to "pick up" her baby. and jus the fact of attracting attention to the fawns location by other predators.

  • I don't find nothing wrong with that I would of done the same thing. The mother should of known to not leave her baby in someone's yard and you didn't know if it was hurt. Fawns are so cute.

  • @butterfly7668 The mother WILL come back to it. Most animals are excellent mothers and will not abandon their offspring. Mother deer will often come back after dark to "pick up" their baby to feed it and move it an other area.

  • it didn't move was it dead?

  • Kool

  • i would never ever tell anyone they were wrong in touching a baby animal, well unless its a skunk.

  • @alaitain lol

  • Gotta be careful with touching babies like that... I don't know how true the myth of the mother abandoning them because they got human scent on them is, but I have seen mother deer go batshit trying to protect her fawn from perceived predators.

How common is it to find them in your yard each year?

  • @GHOSTWRITERL i am always careful if i approach a fawn. I find at least 2 or 3 fawns in the yard every year. this year one even got up on the front covered porch, freaked out the wifes cat.

  • I had the EXACT same thing happen to me.

  • they refuse to move when in this state most of the time. its their defense mech

  • Take your hammer and slam it with full force into the head! Barbecue it after and enjoy with potatoes. Thats what i did when this happened to me.

  • Very cute. Glad you saw it in time. :)

  • the mother would just lick off the human scent at the next feeding people need to look shit up instead of listening to there friends lol

  • Humans have passed around this myth about animals and birds abandoning their babies because of human scent! IT IS JUST UNTRUE! They know it is their baby and the mother will come back when it is safe. I work in wildlife rehabilitation and 90% of the orphans we receive are because of human interference thinking they need help when really all they need iis for the humans to see them take their picture if they must and then leave them alone so mom can come back and take care of them!!

  • Don’t touch his ears / head!

  • @MyBirthday10 OK i won't....oops already did

  • @MyBirthday10 It dosent do anything you retard.
