  • get a banjo hoss

  • 'cause that's what good guitarist do...search videos on the net they "prepare to mock." go pick up your stick and practice you douche. where's your video? where's your "actual ability?" better yet go to ebay and sell your shit so no one will ever have to deal with your idea of music. u alcoholic!

  • I was so prepared to mock this video and then around 00:50 you showed some actually ability. Nice stuff man.

  • are you kidding? Thats Josh Zee. You should check him out a little because that guy can play

  • clearly.

  • They should have him use a loop pedal

  • Yeah, I'd love to hear it played over the top of the rythum so i could hear the accents and work out how to fit it in properly..

    But still a great vid

  • thanks for the clear exposition - nice one!

  • this guy needs a Tele.

  • This guy sounds fucking awesome anyway

  • No doubt...Id still like to see him twangin on a Tele.

  • Nice! Thanx Zee.

    Mother Truckers rock!

  • You should zoom in on the guitar... for those of us without a really good ear... it helps to see what your doing a bit better.

  • lol first good musician from expert village I've ever seen

  • I never knew Mark Wahlberg played guitar

  • Ha ha. He does look similar.

  • Suspiciously so....hmmmmm...

  • i think its the hat

  • @Gibson889 hahahaha

  • Great lesson man :)

    Ur a mad teacher

  • ya josh knows his theory and he can play damn good too. and he's a good teacher. real easy to learn because he explained it so well

  • Been reading all these neg. comments, what the hell!!! This guy has some originality to his approach and he does know his way around that guitar and those short clips you all are bitchin about happen to have some usefull ideas, furthermore maybe everyone should just lighten up!!!!For God's sake it's music,NOT LIFE AND DEATH!!!!

  • why's the V chord got a Maj6 voicing?

  • A 6 in the context of the V7 chord would be a thirteenth. It's just an extension of a dominant 7 chord.

  • don't make sense to me.

  • cool

  • omg this strangely made so much sense..i've been trying to play jazz before now i got it

  • it's more to jazz than that though.. LOL

  • Great lesson!

  • great stuff, going outside the country norm with those jazz licks

  • this guy has good stuff

  • work on your right hand technique the dynamics are all over the place and you move your hand too much. Check out Frank Gambale's estuph. Nice licks but they didn't sound like they fit with the country style. You need to show us a la backing track.

  • i agree, he didnt make it sound like it was leading into the V chord.

  • its because you can't hear the music that would normally go behind it.... and thats another reason its called jazz

things fit differently and are more technical and usually is listened best by an acquired ear, mainly musicians.

  • ha ha i just got my guitar idk anything

  • I think this is the only good player in expervillage

  • The approach most people have towards chords is overly complicated. D7 is a good example, find the octave (same note but higher)in the major chord, then take that note down two semi-tones or frets. There you go D7 not that hard huh?

  • this is Exactly the kind of stuff I want to learn..I am just a tired old chicknpikr who wants to sound like Tiny moore..how did u figure this stuff out..who do u listen to?

  • This guys lessons are great. He's teaching good stuff in a down to earth way. Cheers Josh

  • tabs would help a bunch...i've replayed this lick till i'm crosseyed trying to catch it...lol

  • Then, as you're landing on the 5th chord, slide BACK into the D6. Play the D6 arpeggio, then going down play a major scale to land on the 1 chord. Hope that makes it a little clearer for people. Just so you know, the 6th chord consists of the root, third, fifth, and sixth (major sixth). In this case, it's a D6, so the notes would be D, F#, A, and B.

    `steffanii

  • hawaiibound just made it really confusing. hopefully this will clear it up for you guys: Before going to the 5 chord, you imply it by playing a 5 chord. You slide from the D (the 5th) to D# (which is a half step up) to make it a little more jazzy. You slide from the D to a D#7 arpeggio (but substitute the 3rd with the 5th because that's what the guy is doing in the video).

    TBC...

  • How can you guys not understand this. What he was basically saying is you go from the 1 then you shoot down to 5th street but sharp it with an implied 7th feel all while staying in major taking a left turn at the cave and shaking with hands with the magic gnome, defeat the evil ogre take the redeye back to reality make a turnaround on 5th street and you're back at the 1.

  • left at seven-eleven store and where is wal mart..

  • i can comprehend it i will post it once i got it down, i dont know any jazz but want to lealrn some, check me out in a wekk, i got the notes down from watchin him but need to practice them a bit... i can post tabs too if you want.

  • thx

  • Hey can't you give us some tabs on everything!

  • make a backing and show ur licks

  • good playing and tone. that fretboard looks flat!

  • thnksss a lot..:) make more like this video...:)

  • good stuff. more would be nice!

  • that's beyond my comprehension :O

  • Very good

    thanks
