Big West, Tatsunoko, and Nue have no rights to the music in Robotech, only the footage for the first season, but only out of the US. HG bought all rights to that footage in the States.
Have to point this out: 2:53 sounds almost like a rehashed bit of the first part of the Rick Hunter theme from Robotech. It may be coincidence, but I wouldn't put even that past Yoko Kanno...
Well, Yoko Kanno's well-known for... taking artistic license on many pieces from others. I mean, this has a lot of what I remember from Lilo & Stitch's soundtrack.
Also, I'd like to point out that the comment puts Robotech in a bad light.
