@Cottontail6969 I think the reason people are so upset is because of the length of the attack, to be honest. When the deer ran over, the dog was already backing off. Some would see that as enough. Smack it to the ground, you just showed it who's boss. Go back to your baby. But, no. It just tramples the dog for like, 14 seconds before it cuts out. The attack could have been longer than that. Not to mention it looks like the animal equvilant to a one person kicking another who's already down.

But it could have been SO much worse. Usually the cut with their hooves, instead she just kicked. With all the people around causing a scene, she was likely quite stressed out and the dog, being so closely resembled to coyotes, which very VERY commonly eat deer, seemed like a big threat.

Just as many dogs are real aggressive about their puppies. Had it been the fall and the deer a buck, the dog probably would have gotten much worse. We call it the stick and flip. A bucks antlers aren't just for show, they are weapons they use to great effect. Aren't in the neighborhood deer sweet?
