I had a classic mini like yours and it made me very much fun to drive it. Unfortunately it was quiet expensive also...... I had always some electric problems with it.....the turn lights did not worked always and also the cd player was a problem, the clutch got to short with time (its grip) and couple anothe little things. It shouldn't be that sensitive this car, especially not if its comes from rover...cus u pay for the name and its quality but where is the quality.....
can a metro turbo engine be converted to supercharged ?, been looking at the supercharger kits and there reasonable price wise, looking to crack 150hp with it
yes you can force the induction on any engine.....
the A+ engine can bee boosted up to 150 ish (around 15psi + of boost !) but you must build a strong bottom end first, & then you must have full control of fuelling & ignition systems (advance retard) & a good intercooler intake system, and TBH a 16v or at least a 7 port head should be seriously considered as the std 5 port is the choking restriction on that type of motor....... Good luck... Mark
@rs200000000000 Hey up. not sure about a supercharger but you can succesfully turbo charge a mini fairly easily. I have had 180bhp and 175lb/ft of torque from a turbo'ed 1293cc A+ engine with just over 15psi of boost. Important thing is to have an intercooler and get it set up. I suppose the same success can be had with a supercharger with a reduced size pulley. As with everything mini, theres nothing you cant do! oh, a mini with 150-180bhp really moves! especially if you keep it light
im a total petrol head & it takes a car with at least 300bhp per ton to raise the heart rate, the A series was not going to provide that......... Japanese engineering is the way to go :)
@markustremendus68 Are you mad? How could you be bored of such a great car, especially after what you have done to it. I like it and always love cars that have been converted by people who know what they're doing.
I also like cars that look plain on the outside but have a really good engine!!!!
Have you seen the video of the mini with a helicopter jet engine in it?
