I like it, and the sonic is nice too. Very steampunk :). I love this as a 'midway' look between 8th and 9th. Definitely ready for adventures. I hope he visits the new series. I do believe I could get to like 8 alot :)
the sixth docs blue coat was only seen in a webcast and refered to in the Big finish audios (I think). I think Colin would've suited the blue version of his coat.
That's a pretty radical change. Has there ever been a Doctor with two very different looks? The Tenth had two suits, but those are similar suits. I guess the Sixth had a blue coat but I've not seen it.
@eksortso The Seventh had a fairly different costume in the movie to the one he had in the series and like you said the Sixth also had a blue suit. Other than that I can only think of slight changes.
what is going on? is bbc working on a secret eighth doctor tv event of the century? will we see the regeneration 8 to 9? THEY GOT TO TELL US SOMETHING
If they have to change to leather the Coat needs to be full length.
That said I see no reason to change it at all unles they are planning to use the 8th Doctor character in a visual medium. Personally I liked the TV Movie costume.
Ah, but maybe if he's getting a new costume, he'll be getting new exposure as well, maybe even some visible adventures (a fan can hope, can't she?). Paul McGann is great, even if the TV movie wasn't, and I feel he never got the recognition he deserved.
Still, though, I liked the old costume a lot more.
it would be so cool if there was a spinoff series about the 8th doctor in the time war, kindof like the untold tales of spiderman series, before anybody tells me this is delusional remember: sara jane has her own show!
@clashcitywannabe I'd like to see the 8th Doctor getting some screen time as the main Doctor, but not about the Time War - it'd be best left in the imagination rather than becoming yet another CGI battle (which is all it'd be). I'd also like to see more of the 7th Doctor as he was in the TV movie. Not filling in any gaps or events particularly; I'd just be nice to see the 7th Doctor being calm, like a retired man, rather than all the clown stuff he was doing in the 80s.
he should have his own series... he's still a young lad, looks great, can certainly run around... I'd kill to get 6 yearly episodes with him for a few years.
I LOVE this. McGann has finally brought his Doctor to where he should be. A hint of Eccleston and of Matt Smith's screwdriver. This brings Big Finish and the Offical Series closer than ever before!
@Grantwebb13 Yes but Doctors don't normally change gradually into one another; it's a sudden regeneration and they pick new clothes shortly after. I don't mind seeing the 8th Doctor having a new costume, but we shouldn't look at it as a kind of transformation into what came next.
I like the 8th's original look. even though it was a costume. This looks more like the 9th's look.

So what is this costume getting used for?

@eksortso The 4th Doctor had variations of a theme, they all had a scarf and great coat

I love the old costume but I like this new one as well and hey, if it leads to him getting to appear on tv again then put him in whatever you want!

I LIKE this! Perfect meld of the "wearing something wierd" of the old doctors with the "badassery" of the new ones.

@Otterrat I don't think the old Doctors' costumes could be summarised as "wearing something weird".

Sooo does this mean we get to see THE TIME WAR?????????
akumatekkusu666 1 year ago 12
@akumatekkusu666 Hopefully never. Best left in the imagination. Doctor Who lost its appeal in the 1980s because his mystery went away too much.
feckingbillgates 1 year ago
@akumatekkusu666 nope, it's an unofficial costume, concocted by fans.

So is this just been used in the Big Finish stories or is it going to become official and used in other stuff as well?
