We are singing this for our winter concert and our new choir teacher is working us really hard so we sound good. You guys don't sound that bad. There are a few things like vowels but it is really pretty! Great job!
Such a nice surprise to find this on here! I was at Western when we sang this at Disneyland in 2002. I miss the choir there! Shout outs to all my peeps back at Western! Especially Mr. Schubert! C/O 2003 baby!
My school also sings this song every year at Christmas. All our audition choirs (there's four of them. One mens choir, one womens choir, and the last two mixed but one's a show choir) and this is the closest version I found that sings the same way we do 8D you know actally having tenors and bases sing the second verse. and sure it could use a little work but hey no one's perfect. great job on your concert :3
My school sings this song every year, and sorry, but I have a few comments I need to state. The vowels need to be worked on, the 'r's as well, they got better throught the song. Your sopranos need to sing a little softer. I know singing high and soft is hard, but they overpower the rest of the choir. (I've sung this song for 4 years on Alto, even though I'm now a Soprano 1, I started freshman year as an Alto 2, so I'm still Alto on this song.)
seriously, the sopranos WAY overpower the altos. the altos are the most beautiful section in this piece, i think. our choir is doing this song. we're still working out that very kink.
Also it sounds kinda immature, and there's parts where certain groups just sing and then the whole choir comes in with the chorus and it just sounds like a mess. It's supposed to be serene, not chaotic.
My schools choir did this song at Disneyland for the Candlelight Carol night for 3 years. I love this song!!!!! Work on ur vowels like the other comments said. More open British tone.
im in my school choir, im an alto an had to sing that song at a consert. its amazin 2 sing, especially with 10 men, 18 altos, 10 2nd sopranos, and 10 first sopranos.

The sections are uneven.
Were doing this song this year.
I think it sounds better for a Treble Choir to do.
But its not horrible.
This song is difficult to gett the sections divided right and to balance it out.

The altos need to be louder, the sopranos way overpower them in the first half of the song.
