6.99 seconds at 109.66 MPH? Something doesn't add up. A 10 second car is doing 135+ MPH at a 1/4 mile, and there's an 8 second Viper that's doing 173 MPH at the 1/4 mile. For this to be 7 seconds, it would have to be upwards of 200, rather than 109 and change.
Even if it's an 1/8 mile track, the speed still isn't as high as it should be for that ET.

The only way a car could get that speed and ET is if it was a rolling 30+ MPH start, or the car is so low geared that it tops out at 110ish, but has great acceleration up to 70 MPH.

Sounds like it has a turbo, but probably got stock engine block. Anything that does this times isn't stock. I got a Honda myself, but it's only a D15. Not exactly fast, but works for me since I'm not speeding. It's a crime you know.
@XanderionX yeah, stock engine BLOCK. Everything else (pistons, camshaft, head, valves etc etc) is probably custom. Now, you can't really tell what's under the hood in this video. I don't know about you, but a only stock block isn't the same as a stock engine in my opinion

I got a Golf 2 1.8 myself. If i wanted to, i could put a 2.8 VR6 in it. Hell, i could even put in a 2.9 VR6 and convert it to 4WD, and it would be a god damn monster. And i could add a turbo, yes. Oh, and if you add a turbo, or upgrade to a bigger one, it still wouldn't be stock.
Heres the thing........if you have to buy a car and mod it like crazy to the ponit where you put 10,000 dollars worth of work........its not the company (In this case honda) that makes great cars.its just cause you added a bunch of shit to it to make it go faster..........i own an Impala ss stock and can beat any stock honda out there. @DylanLFS ummmm i can buy a crashed mark 8 with a good motor from the junkyard for 800 or less. mark 8s have the 32v 4.6l that came in the cobra making 290hp 290tq, a t5 tranny 300 bucks, intake, exhaust, pulleys - 400 bucks for that motor and my lil ranger weighs 3400lbs with that swap. i bought it for $1700 do some math..... 1700+800+300+400= $3200
and since i have the connections with performance parts im looking at a total of 2900 or less and thats a 10s car build or in my case a truck.

@DylanLFS I had a Honda CRX, built a type R motor up and ran mid 12's. My buddy owns a Monte Carlo, did a big block swap on it, and is running aftermarket IRON heads. The thing is a heavy SOB. But it runs low 11's. I spent a butt ton of money he spent a fraction and got better results.

@kubalibre305 yea civics power comes from v-tec which comes from high rpm's you can do some research on it. I am not a huge fan of civics but i understand them, In addition, a person can buy turbo's that are built to work with a high revving engine. I agree when you said power doesnt come from higher rev's older muscle cars rely more on torque which comes from 3000 or 4000 rpm's. Spoon engines can rev up to 12-14 thousand rpm's different engines different responses...

doesnt matter how built it is no engine can stand being revved past 8k rpms day after day
thats why diesels and american trucks last 400k miles and more. because they are limited under 7k rpms and are geared so the motor wont stress even when towing.

You can build cars to with stand more stress and punishment replacing the pistons, crankshaft, rods, balancers, pulleys, brackets,head, manifold, rockers arms, bearings, cam, headers, exhaust ecu chip, carburator, fuel injection etc & etc um yea the list goes on and on... different engines will have different parts of course..race cars dont get put through there paces all the time and hondas last forever 300-400 thousand miles...

mustang 4.6 r the same romeo motors used in f150s,expeditions,lincolns,mercurys, vans etc.. only difference in each is the intake manifold, MAF, intake, and sensors here and there.the 5.4l found in the lincoln navigator is same motor used in the cobra, and the 4.6l cobra are same used in marauders, continentals, mark viii. and honda, power, torq, and race r not ment to be in same sentence

@kubalibre305 Honda built the S2000 in 1999 to spin to 9100 daily - it was a successor to the old Honda S600 which spun to 10,000 daily....to that end there are plenty of S2000s on the road today happily spinning to 9100 and beyond day after day ....in fact one from 2001 just went 9.5@147 with almost 70K miles on it...spinning 9600 on the factory bottom end. 6.99 seconds at 109.66 MPH? Something doesn't add up. A 10 second car is doing 135+ MPH at a 1/4 mile, and there's an 8 second Viper that's doing 173 MPH at the 1/4 mile. For this to be 7 seconds, it would have to be upwards of 200, rather than 109 and change.
Even if it's an 1/8 mile track, the speed still isn't as high as it should be for that ET.

@DylanLFS ummmm i can buy a crashed mark 8 with a good motor from the junkyard for 800 or less. mark 8s have the 32v 4.6l that came in the cobra making 290hp 290tq, a t5 tranny 300 bucks, intake, exhaust, pulleys - 400 bucks for that motor and my lil ranger weighs 3400lbs with that swap. i bought it for $1700 do some math..... 1700+800+300+400= $3200
and since i have the connections with performance parts im looking at a total of 2900 or less and thats a 10s car build or in my case a truck.

@DylanLFS I had a Honda CRX, built a type R motor up and ran mid 12's. My buddy owns a Monte Carlo, did a big block swap on it, and is running aftermarket IRON heads. The thing is a heavy SOB. But it runs low 11's. I spent a butt ton of money he spent a fraction and got better results.

however i disagree on the high rpms for speed or power.
a transmission gives the car speed. rpms just get the motor up to speed to set the power but the tranny gives it speed.
no car needs to rev over 7000 rpms to go fast there are plenty of cars that run fast as hell under 5000rpms

@kubalibre305 yea civics power comes from v-tec which comes from high rpm's you can do some research on it. I am not a huge fan of civics but i understand them, In addition, a person can buy turbo's that are built to work with a high revving engine. I agree when you said power doesnt come from higher rev's older muscle cars rely more on torque which comes from 3000 or 4000 rpm's. Spoon engines can rev up to 12-14 thousand rpm's different engines different responses...

mustang 4.6 r the same romeo motors used in f150s,expeditions,lincolns,mercurys, vans etc.. only difference in each is the intake manifold, MAF, intake, and sensors here and there.the 5.4l found in the lincoln navigator is same motor used in the cobra, and the 4.6l cobra are same used in marauders, continentals, mark viii. and honda, power, torq, and race r not ment to be in same sentence

@kubalibre305 Honda built the S2000 in 1999 to spin to 9100 daily - it was a successor to the old Honda S600 which spun to 10,000 daily....to that end there are plenty of S2000s on the road today happily spinning to 9100 and beyond day after day ....in fact one from 2001 just went 9.5@147 with almost 70K miles on it...spinning 9600 on the factory bottom end. @Servicemember80ever heard of GRABBER F150? has same motor/tranny as my f150 with a single turbo doing over 400RWHP low boost.my f150 does mid to high 14s stock but if i do a low boost turbo or SC its easly running 11s with4:10 gears.and turbo civics?i walk em or better said.FLY by em. and i dont need a swap.unless any car out there wants a real asswhooping. ill swap to a DOHC 32V cobra motor which does280hp stock on a $500 mark 8 at a junk yard. yeah they do 14s flat stock with an auto 5speed.

@kubalibre305 Ummm a Stock S2000 2.0L 4cyl is faster than the majority of ALL the mustangs ever built - runs a 13.7-14.1 out of the box....and a turbo Honda is relying on its owner - so you cant judge all turbo Hondas by what some kid builds with his lunch money vs a real racer...case in point many turbo S2000s make 5-600hp stock block the serious builds have gone past 700hp - factory bottom ends
