  • You know what funny? They can't even play this live themselves, lololol

  • that was very good

  • Good boy

  • that's SIC

  • Omg! Herman!!! You're playing bass now? XD

  • :o

  • those are some pretty damn strong fingers. Im learning 'tapping' (dunno if that's right), any advices anyone?

  • good work bro

  • Sick, good job.

  • this is awesome but dragon force sucks

  • @jackkrichilsky And still you keep searching up covers of them and everything? Seriously... You dont like dragonforceses music, but that dosen`t mean they suck. And again, you dont like them no problem, but why do you keep looking them up? Even covers of them to

  • @BigGHpondus i got to here not by searching but it came up in the isde bar thingy and i thought it would be good, lax bro

  • i tried learning that song on bass, not the solo, and i think the solo is easier to be honest xD

  • to briangriffin1066: yes you can

  • youneed more practice man, samely congratulations

  • @peruvolumen1 Did you notice, that this cover is from 2006?

  • god damn that was bad ass

  • I really hate dragon force but that was amaing!

  • His right hand is like a four legged man who's running for his life!

  • Omg, dude, ur insane .

  • Thats awesome. But does anyone realize the every dragonforce song sounds exactly the same?

  • @MrPeytonB Actually not exactly true, only this album really.

  • @MrPeytonB thats why he didn't label the song name in the title and just called it dragonforce

  • @MrPeytonB not really at all. the Inhuman Rampage songs all sound similar but that's because they were just trying to make a bunch of fast, dark songs. all their other songs are quite identifiable and don't sound similar at all. each of their records has a constant sound through out the record but the Inhuman Rampage one is the most similar through out each song.

  • @SonataArctica1212 oh :| :D

  • @MrPeytonB I think they all sound pretty gay.

  • @MrPeytonB That's why the name is appropriate. "DragonForce Guitar Solo". no song title in the name.

  • @MrPeytonB What they have more than one song?

  • i play bass alot, but that was amazing

  • speachless

  • Love the tone and just everything. a classy looking bass to might I add

  • Don't like dragon force but that was really awesome

  • Hahaha all the kids trying to tell GBagley to play guitar are just horrible guitarists that think they need to be more talented than the bassist in a band. Poor little guitards...

  • Tabs?

  • Your left hand moves so fast it's inhuman.

  • i seriously dislike Dragonforce, but that was cool

  • it sounds a little bit like super mario XD

  • You play too slow in the fast parts.... still need a lot of work...

  • Doesnt sound overly difficult but you played it very clean and very solid. Very good job :D

  • your girlfriend must love you :)

  • Sounds like this came out from golden axe.

  • damm thats good by ear playing =O btw why does the neck gotta be so "fat" just for 1 extra string? XD

  • @ragnaroksama because its a bass, it has a distance between strings.

  • @ragnaroksama - 19mm spacing between strings is 'standard' for basses. You can get narrower if you want, but I like it wide!

  • @GBagley hmmm me too! bass is the first stringed instrument i ever played, i tried to do some stuff in the guitar (acustic and eletric) it felt so weird i couldnt play a thing xP the strings r too close 1 from another

  • @ragnaroksama It's funny, I have the complete opposite. I find the bass strange to play as it's bigger in size. However it's easier to play accurately as the strings are more spaced out. But to me the guitar feels more natural. I suppose it's the one you you start off learning first, which you get used to.

  • @briangriffin1066 yeah...the difference i mean is, i miss a lot more, gotta keep looking at the fret board 2x more, and the difference is...u cant play fast stuff in bass as u would on guitar xD

  • @ragnaroksama I disagree. I keep up with my band's guitarist quite well on bass guitar. Us playing Thrash Metal and that bastard shredding like a maniac, that is not prefectly possible though with merely two fingers. I only use two for the most part because I get inaccurate with three. Haha xD

  • @Kakhaufan well u can, but for me it kinda hurts, like more determination as it would on guitar, i think. lets not forget im just a nb begginer, i havent tried being a bad yet since i suck xD

  • @ragnaroksama On Bass or guitar? : D I've been playing both for about two years now, guitar slightly longer. I still suck a lot xD check out my videos to get an impression of unimpressive guitar noodling.

  • @Kakhaufan i meant on bass xD ive been playing since april something... since i didnt got any lessons all i do is check out tabs (different 1s) once a week and learn like from 10% to 30% of the song cause it gets "complicated" and i go "yeah not gonna do that so lets just jump to something else >_>" i just play for fun mostly. the only songs i put my mind on it rlly is orion and anesthesia, on orion i cant do the second solo and on anesthesia i cant do the drums part =I

  • @ragnaroksama Yeah those were the first songs I played on bass as well. Well I learnt to play bass with the fingers within a week because of my band in the end and the choice came to fingers because I hated the sound the bass gave off when I used a pick. It just wasn't the way a bass should sound in my opinion, so yeah xD Cliff certainly left some good work there to stumble upon ^^

  • @Kakhaufan nothing against picks but i know what u mean, i sometimes wanna play with pick to go faster but it makes me sick. idk if im the one whos playing it wrong, but its like, takes the whole bass thing out of the bass, all trebly . i think u know how it is xD

  • @ragnaroksama Totally know what you mean. I hate that sound as well.

  • @GBagley thats what she said XD

  • Comment removed

  • @GBagley Did you want to say "One of the standards"?

  • @Stereogun - Depends on your definition of 'standard' I guess. I've always thought of 19mm as standard because that's what Fenders are, and what the vast majority of 4-string basses use at least. When you get into 5 and 6-string basses, it's more common to see narrower string spacing.

  • @GBagley Yes, that`s exactly what I meant, since you are playing 5-string.

But ok, I didn`t want to mentor.

  • @GBagley could be worse, I had a 6 string Ibanez BTB a while back and THAT sucker was like a boat oar haha. This neck still looks pretty hefty itself, but more importantly: I dislike dragonforce and I think this cover you did kicked serious ass man! Nice sound in the upper register man :)!!

  • @GBagley Hey Oh!

  • @GBagley Thats what she said!

  • y the fuck would u dislike this this shit is amazing

  • they are my eyes or that bass have 5 strings?

  • @fifaworldcupitaly90 You can get bass with like 12 strings but normally its 4-5 strings.

  • kalannnnn

  • u should be dragonforce's bassist :P just saying

  • duude awesome job :D

  • SO MUCH EPIC

  • Proof that Dragonforce solos are only really shitty solos, just super picked...However, when transfered over to the bass, awesomeness is produced.

  • Can picks be used on basses?

  • @VicRattlehead79 tthx.

  • @ExtremeRockMusic

Yeah of course. Most bassist prefer to use fingers though for their own reasons.

  • @YianniPapazis Im personally a guitarist, but i might get a bass in a month, and I cant use my fingers so, thx :).

  • @ExtremeRockMusic Of course, depends on the sound you want, attack and also your own comfort.

  • @JosephGallagher That helps me some more, i might be getting a bass in a month, and i cant alternate my right hand fingers really well yet so, i like using picks.

  • Damn you are really good, I personally don't like dragonforce, but that was some sick shit....

  • Two words

    Holy shit!

  • @tokorev747777 Two words

    I agree!

  • The video should be called: "DragonForce Guitar Solo Played on Bass, Which Is Impossible"

  • fucking awesome =)

  • I dig it man, great job.

  • What Dragonforce needs is a bassist that actually deserves to be referred to as such, you'd fill the spot very well!

  • how....just...how

  • Thumbs up for a finger player

  • great!!!!!!

  • i dont like dragon force... but this is very good

  • damn dude that was sick love your material keep it up

  • He he he he i maintain this speed with 2 fingers :D

  • great technique!

  • I wish bass was louder or something, normally you cant hear it if they dont remove it just to show you what it sounds like without it.

  • Buy a Guitar :D

  • how many frets and strings is that?

  • @16coreprocessor23 5 string,if its a Ken Lawrence theres no way(i guese) it will be lower than 22.

  • @16coreprocessor23 5 strings, 24 frets.

  • @16coreprocessor23 - 5-strings, 24 frets.

  • @GBagley thank you :)

  • this vid is the tits. i've been playing bass only for about 9 months now so this is the kind of shit i hope i can do someday.

  • dragonforce sucks

  • @xdgp696x lol but on bass its pretty amazing right???

  • finally, another metal bassist that uses only his fingers! :]

  • gay

  • @dunbar1234 Wow, you really showed GBagley how it is... I bet he feels pretty hurt by your attempt to insult him...

  • this is a pretty beast ass vide0

  • @roms13340 - Yeah...no. Guitars aren't tuned low enough for me. Also, I'm a bass player, not a guitar player.

  • @GBagley im not saying you should convert to guitar, but an 8 string would be cool in your hands

  • @GBagley vagina

  • @GBagley bass is better anyway =P

  • @GBagley Please grace us though, even with a shitty strat, you belong in the studio with both bass and guitar (technically both are guitars but whatever right?)

  • @roms13340 Ass...

  • @roms13340 y should he

  • turned it lower and it could be a bassline playing with the solo.

  • play now through the fire and flames...

  • Sick !

  • Dude..... that was sick.....

im jealous that you bassgeeks get to enjoy the efficiency of using all your non-fretting fingers instead of just a pick for triplets and polyrythmic patterns...... and shit and whatnot....

we need more fuckers like you around!!!!

i hate having to stick some asshole on a bass because he cant keep up on guitar....and i only do that because i cant find a bassist!!!....... its a fuckin conundrum!!!!

Cheers Dude!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

  • Nice job man, just curious... what's that tan thing at the back of your strings? Is it a thumb rest, if so what kind is it?

  • @kenithcanule - That would be the center of the body. It's a Mahogany body with an Ash center block.

  • @GBagley what's the point of the center block showing?

  • @swanski100 thumb rest

  • dude.....props...can't implore the props i give you lol

  • The funny thing is without lyrics I can't tell which song is which by them.

Hell, with lyrics I can't. All their songs sound the same.

    But sometimes I like it.

This however, is great. nice job.

  • You are very talented(so 5 stars for YOUR performace) but that song(and the whole dragonwhores band) is a complete shit =/

  • Damn! Dude look at your fingers go! You've got a serious talent!

  • Tap Bass!!! XD

I think you tapped a bit near the beginning lol

  • what strings do you use, and what gauge, i think ernie ball probably make the best bass strings but there is this company called B52 that makes strings, that are magnetic, never tried those yet.

  • @ogskeetdizzle - I was using DR HiBeams in this video. My favorite strings now are Thomastik Infeld Jazz Rounds though. .89 E-string.

  • You should make a new video! Can you do 'For whom the bells tolls"?

  • Thanks!

  • dude, i'd like to see you typing.

  • @JPitol - I am a pretty fast typist! Somewhere around 80-90 wpm on average.

  • @GBagley dude... thats fast typing hahah. oh and good solo haha

  • @Gbagley How do I make my bass strings more loose?

  • @fatshine179 - Technically, string tension only has to do with the scale length of your bass, and the gauge of strings you're using. You might just want to lower the action or tweak the setup though, if you want it to play easier. Either lowering the action at the bridge or changing the bow of the neck with the truss rod.

  • @fatshine179 You don't. You just have to not be a pussy, Pussy.

  • @fatshine179 how many strings is on it

  • @walon236 5

  • @fatshine179 what u need to do is adjust your gauge thts what i did with my bc rich guitar and my strings a as loose as i want them

  • @fatshine179 if that doesnt help, (though it should) take your guitar to a shop and have them slightly loosen up the truss rod. ( but dont try it at home, the pros will know whats best.)

  • You play the solo so cleanly; the tone is fantastic and I love it.

  • amazing but it would have been a lot better if the music was quieter so u could hear him playing more

  • amazing! u could do more videos like that :D

  • Foof, thats a beautiful galloping technique you've got there

  • i like the 3 finger style

  • Know this everyone.. this was him 3.5 years ago

    Holy shit!

  • @GetoutofMyYard1 - Yeah, most of my videos are a little older now...

  • can be done on 4 string???

  • @jadenj5 - Sure. I'm literally only using the D and G strings for the solo part here.

  • threeeee finger plucking! :D

  • If it was sped up, wouldnt it change the pitch of the notes? think about it people.

  • @CamW91 - You can change video/audio speeds without altering the pitch. (though I didn't do that here).

  • haha, well ive been using this ik multimedia stealthplug for like 6 months as a tuner, and it uit worki on me. so i grabbed my old tuner and as it turns out it was a defective plug so it wasnt even tuned right

  • haha @ sped up, some people!!!!! anyways i have a question oh bassfingered one. i have a 5er and its got .130 EBMM slinkys on it, people tell me the heavier the gauge string the tighter it will be, i feel my low b string is a bit too floppy. what are your thoughts? .130 gauage should be fine and its all in my head?

  • @mokeanL

.130 gauge is fine bro. I suggest checking the intonation on your B. Also, the scale length will effect how well your B plays. 35" is the best but 34" usually works fine too

  • @mokeanL - You're probably asking the wrong guy, since I tend to like lower-tension strings anyways. My B is a .118 and I love it. You might want to try just raising the action on the B-string before you try a heavier set of strings.

  • @GBagley so i figured out that my IK multimedia stealthplug was disfunctional and i was using it as my tuner. never buy a stealthplug.

  • COOL!!!!!!!

  • He sped it up its really not that amazing

  • its not sped up, why would you think that, or are you just trolling...

  • dont feed the troll...

  • He's just another troll.

  • thank you for clarification sir.

  • @BrandenForever deff not sped up

  • TABS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jadenj5 - No tabs.

  • @GBagley damn can it be done on a four sting??

  • Holy...Fuck!!!

  • holy shit

  • daaaaiiiaaaammmmm!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WTF. Thats crazy!

  • Well done !

  • Awesome! Well done dude!

  • Is it me, or has it gone cold in here...?

  • Regardless what anyone thinks of Dragonforce, weather they suck or rock. THIS is undeniabley amazing

  • Beautiful work, man. Keep it up.

  • thats so awesome!

  • great job dude. if im not mistaken this wasnt through the fire and flames correct? to me it sounded very similar perhaps because dragonforce is running out of ideas and had to rip off the one song they did that got any attention. dragonforce shames music and should not even be honored with the title of "powermetal" for they disgrace metal. and metal spits in their face for their impudence... anyways yeah ur and awesome musician. id rather listen to you than dragonforce anyday.
