When the players are having fun with the piece, the result will be exciting. This performance is electrifying. Wherever Schubert is, I'm sure this makes him smile!
@rugbyplayer9999 This may sound rude, but try shutting your eyes. Judge the music on the sound, not the appearance. Some musicians overdo it and that should be addressed by a qualified teacher. I should also remind you that this is one of the greatest pieces ever written. It's hard not to be emotional when you perform it.
the original score of this chamber work is lost, therefore the dating is unknown although it is thought by some evidence that was written the last year in Schubert's life 1828. even so it had to wait 22 years after the author's death to be premiered in 1850 at the musikverein in Vienna
@HuggumsMcgehee That note and that chord was in-tune; however, there were some other chords that were not. Still, this is a very good performance. You can't expect perfection in every piece that you hear. Be happy that this is so musical!
By the way, this really is an excellent performance. The only better version I have heard was The Gueneri Quintet live, perhaps twenty-five years ago. This movement is positively heartrending, one of the greatest movements in all music. Bravo!
The trio is absolutely amazing

This was amazing but I hate when musicians move tooooo much. It distracts from the actual performance.

Wonderful, but perhaps a little too brisk?

Probably. The violinist who played the top note of the chord at 2:28 sounded a little off.

You're right and that note. I'm must not have been listening too hard. It was probably the echo.
