I 150 percent agree with every single word you have said in this video, i myself is also Dislixic, which every day is a pain in the butt! BUT i keep fighting, forget about it, and keep going forward, i am 36years old, i have a good job, not much i know, but thats life! in anycase, i know what your sayig, and fully understand!
How strange. I have that left-right thing, and have to look at my hands to tell the difference between them. But I read well. My mother has the same left right confusion, so I assumed I'd inherited it. Odd.
it not a disability its a gift i have Dyslexia its a gift, my spelling and gramma or poor i read slow, but i can do the left and right thing but think karate
helped with that one as when i got it wrong he would stand on the foot and say that right or left but i am great with my hand i can make brillant things i can solve phisical problems with ease and in ways other none dyslexics, ita also help me to think out of the box and find diffrent ways to think, thanks to dyslexya i would not chang it
@travisg336 The whole look at your hand and if it makes an L it is your left hand, doesn't help. Because I flip the L around and it then looks like my right hand. And then I am really confused. I try and think about which hand I write with.
Funny another dyslexic asked me how to spell muscles and i'm dyslexic my self lol ironic. I spell by breaking up the words in smaller chunks or remembering what it looks like. If i have not come across a word, I can't spell it.
In my case I can read, but I don't understand what it is saying sometimes
Don't focus on your handicap. You are beautiful and intelligent. Two of my chldren, now adults, are dyslexic and both are doing very will in life. Your dyslexia is not something to be bitter about - it is part of who you are and you are a seriously beautiful persnal.
Hi Emma Im in the USA. Just wanted to say thanks for the video. I am dyslexic just like yourself. I made it all the way to my to college as well. Got my AS, BA, and MFA. Your absolutely right. We can do anything. Including getting online and telling others.
Reading is a skill and acquiring skills has nothing to do with IQ You can learn any skill no matter what your IQ Einstein was one of the many who had problems with reading and his IQ was 150+
when I got to the interview it went better than one could hope until the end where one of the interviewers pointed to my resume and asked me how long I worked for that guy. Well to make a long story short I couldn't read what he was pointing at and that's when I had to tell them I had dyslexia and let me tell you they went on and on about things they thought I would not be able to do on the job which was BS and it was just a heavy equipment operating position.
Hi Emma I don't know why your teachers would think it has something to do with your IQ, if those teachers were doing their job and properly informed they would know that to be diagnosed with dyslexia you have to have an average to above average IQ, as far as the discrimination thing goes I completely agree with you. I took a test for a job I had a reading pen fortunately, it turned out I scored the highest on the test out of several dozen people

You got discovered my dyslexia age 26 at university. Thats even later than your 9 years old.
With 'left' and 'right', I get the problem with 'before' and 'after'. 'Thick' and 'thin'. just could not tell the difference.

Needless to say they didn't hire me, it pissed me off something fierce if I could have proven it I would've sued the shit out of them.
