Kind of crazy to watch this, it has been a while since he passed. December 31st, 2006. I was Spc Smith's Truck Commander. He was my driver. I wasn't with him that day. I was one of his NCO's before we left. RIP Smith
God bless her and her family...Our son went to Iraq for 15 months and returned this past August...we worried constantly and I can't imagine her pain, we'll add her and her family to our prayers.
I really feel her pain I really do lets just hope that obamas plan work if not then we all just need to fire them all and make changes are selfs . we can pull a boston tea party on there asses hey we all may not have a choice are lifes may depend on it
My heart trembles listening to that poor girl talk about her brother.. God bless her brother and the soldiers family. As a former soldier I believe nothing is worse than seeing people killed or having to cope with the loss of close family and friends. The pain of it will subside in intensity over time but how it changes you as a person forever and what it takes out of your soul is a permanent wound connected to the tragedy of the loss.
Denise this was so intimate and precious, I love your openness . you are a treasure.

My brother's at Ft. Hood. He went to Iraq in 2003 and might have to return.
My daughter's dad, my best friend, was killed in Tower 1 of the World Trade Center.
She's still affected by her father's loss, which is why she refuses to get married. She said she can't imagine anyone but her father giving her away.
I still feel the loss nearly 7 years later, and your right about the holidays never being the same.
