  • my boi friend sounds so good doing this song..=)

  • this song reminds me of one night when i went out drinking and partying with this one girl....ahh the memories

  • Texas Country will always be the best. Hands down.

  • Look, radio country is a completely different entity. Red Dirt is different. RRB, The Great Divide, Ray Wiley Hubbard...LEGENDS! Hands down. You can't compare what the Nashville establishment produces to this. Some hardcore would go as far to say that this very video is "selling out" because of it's "production". Red Dirt artist used to not make videos, but the Oklahoma/Texas scene is evolving and separating itself even more from your Tim McGraw (not country) or Kenny Chesney (at the beach

  • Stoney is Red Dirt and got his start in Oklahoma. Cody Canada, Jason Boland, and Stoney all lived together on a house on University Ave. in Stillwater, OK near the campus of Oklahoma State Univ. Thus he's Red Dirt. Hence why one of his albums is titled "The Red Dirt Album".

  • Don't forget it's co-written by Brandon Jenkins

  • He wrote that album in a broken down trailer on a cliff. Seriously.

  • I know for a fact ccr is from stillwater. i'm not sure about stoney but i'm pretty sure he is too.

  • to be honest, i dont like the video as much as i like the song itself.. dont get me wrong, RRB is pretty Badass, and so is this song... but the video, not so much.

  • you wanna know the difference between hayes Carll and The Randy Rogers Band, The Randy Rogers Band makes this sound good

  • I love it....they have some awesome songs. The mister and I enjoy their music.

  • how is this in any way a rip off of Hayes Carll? The two songs don't sound a single thing alike. Only similarity i noticed is that they both use A-minor at somepoint. Hayes Carll is also in a completely different genre of music. Randy Rogers Band is red dirt, Hayes Carll isn't even close. Like crazyjak said, just enjoy the damn music.

  • RRB isn't red dirt...they're Texas Country

  • what is red dirt any ways?,,, Texas Country for sure.. but yeah youre totally right

  • "Texas Country" is what it's called in Texas. Red Dirt is what it's called in Oklahoma. Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Stoney LaRue, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and all of the other bands that originated from Stillwater, OK are all Red Dirt bands.

  • awesome cool!

  • Red Dirt is Northern Texas music like Johnny Cooper, CCR, Stoney LaRue

those guys put a push of rock with a twist of bluegrass and country. So thats where red dirt comes from. I still enjoy it but RRB isn't red dirt I agree they are Texas Country

  • Red Dirt is a Oklahoman thing.. And literally all the bands you mentioned are from Oklahoma.. Johnny Cooper, CCR, Stoney LaRue.. All from Oklahoma..

  • I digress that Stoney and CCR are from Oklahoma but Johnny is from Witchitah Falls I know this personally because I have sat down with the boy after one of his shows and bullshitted with him for about an hour. Great kid and great musican. I agree that yes most of Red dirt is them Oklahoma boys. I have nothing against them and think they are wonderful bands. I just knew that most Red dirt if not all was northern Texas and Oklahoma. Regardless absolute fantastic music. lol

  • Let's put this to rest. "Red Dirt" music is something Texas and Oklahoma do share. We both have red dirt roads to travel, that's where the term comes from. If you're a Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, or Trace Adkins fan than you haven't heard country music. Gimmee a fiddle, and a steel guitar. By the way aqrhine Johnny Cooper is from Wichita Falls, Texas and is a friend of mine and so are his parents. Let the Red Dirt keep risin!

  • How the hell can you say that these guys who are barely getting their break are country and legends like Tim Mcgraw, Trace Adkins, and my hero, Kenny Chesney, aren't? Doesn't make any sense at all.

  • Legends? Holy Hell! Maybe if one of them would actually write a song someday I might listen. 3 words for ya: POP NASHVILLE BULLSHIT

Take a listen to Lost Hotel by Wade Bowen, The Red Dirt Album by Stoney Larue, or pretty much anything involving Mike McClure or Randy Rogers then get back to me.

  • POP?

In what way are either of them pop?

You know as much as I do, nobody who

likes pop puts any of them on their list of favorite artists. And what do you mean, "if they'd actually write a song". And I have nothing against these guys like Randy Rogers Band and EYB, but I'm just trying to see why you have to pick a side between them, and the people who are extremely popular in country music.

  • Yes POP. Don't have the audacity to say that you know as much as I do. Nashville "country" sucks they sing about bull that they can't even relate to. Just because people are popular doesn't mean they know shit about music. American Idol is a popular show.

  • Seriously?

Don't be so stupid and think you know more than everybody. Everybody has their own opinions. I think everybody can relate to "In color" by Jamey Johnson. and "Summertime" by Kenny Chesney. and there are TONS of other songs like them. And just because you THINK you know anything about music, doesn't mean you do. And American Idol is a popular show? Okay..? How does that validate your point?

  • You ask how artists you named are pop...Tim McGraw did a duet with Nelly & Trace Adkins has a song about a "badonkadonk" or however the hell you spell it. That doesn't scream traditional country to me. These artists are pop country, it doesn't necessarily make them bad, it's up to your preference. I'm more a fan of Texas Country, traditional country and Red Dirt music because I grew up in Texas & Oklahoma & my grandpa plays steel. I do like Kenny Chesney though, so lol I can't say much there.

  • Your view of country is pop country...i dont want to offend you, but if you ever go down to Texas or Oklahoma, and go to a dance hall and see Kevin Fowler, or Rich O'toole, or any other Texas country artist, you'll understand what we're talkin about..shit youtube them and you'll see what i mean. there is just a difference in the music quality and what it is about. you cant go wrong with steel guitar and fiddle solos man. enlighten yourself to real country music

  • Dude, I live in texas. Kevin Fowler is amazing. As is Robert Earl Keen. I'm in love with Hag, George Jones, George Strait, Conway (of course. :]) but, I dunno.

I don't really think about it I guess. I like both types of "country". I guess there is a difference. But to me, it's just about what I personaly get from the song.

  • very well said!!!

texas country music is a genre all on it's own.

  • amen to that lol :P

  • ahiii!! i love this songg :)

  • Wow! The feelings I get when this and other Randys Songs are are so strong. Me and my bride of seven years breAK INTO TEARFUL JOY and stammer each breath. Hell we are over fifty and only just found the red dirt Music here in California. When I heard about the concert tour I said to my girl " Lets just leave the House and the business Doors swinging in the breeze and follow Randy and Wade till the money runs out"

She looked up at me and said "Ya Wanna?"

Later she suggested we join the fan club

  • I don't believe any of these guys are "Sell Outs". We are all in this to make money to provide for our families or whatever. Making top dollar for your gig is not a bad thing. If you can make the big bucks and still be cool, that's the real deal. Pat Green was not cool. He was a sloppy, snotty drunk when I met him and his show reflected it as well. Making the big bucks but, remembering your manners seems like the right way to go. For example, just look at Victor Wooten.

  • I do believe Pat was a Sell Out but I also know that Randy battled a serious alcohol problem for 3 years and is now finally sober so congrats to him. I never get tired of seeing them in concert and I have watched them time and time again all over Houston just like all the other Texas Country and Red Dirt bands. By the way RRB isn't Red dirt. But both styles are absolute gold music and can listen to both all day and night and not get tired.

  • Yeah I don't buy the "sell out" label either. I think Pat's music is still great. I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience with him tho. I've gotta say I've had nothing but great experiences at his shows and the few times I've met him. Maybe he was just having a bad night? At least I hope that's the case.

  • damn yall just enjoy the music

  • im basing my deffinition of selling out not on how many albums they sell or even if they change the sound of the music a little. I consider someone a sell out when they stop being loyal to fans and start walking around like thier shit dont stink. Hopefully RRB wont do that but who nows. I didnt consider pat green a sell out when he signed with a big label. I considered him a sell out when he forgot who his true fans are.

  • really it's funny that you say that because i've met pat green on multiple occasions after shows. i got to play a gig with one of his best friends from back in the texas tech days and he's a lot more hospitable and social with his fans than a lot of texas country singers. he does a lot more for his fans considering how big he is so i'd disagree highly but it sounds like it's just a matter of opinion. randy has been standoffish at shows for YEARS. i find pat far more approachable.

  • i didnt say he didnt play them but he doesnt enjoy it like he used to. I really liked pat green when he first came out. he was fun energetic but when the bigger he got the more he lost contact with his fans. I imangine most of the nasty college bars are just a way for him to make some more cash not to have fun but who knows

  • I have met all these guys yall are talking about and let me tell you pat green is an asshole douche. He is a sell out but not because he signed on a major label or because he changed his sound. He is a sell out because he forgot where he came from and who his true fans are. He acts like he is too good for small places and dirty bars anymore. He should take a lesson from Kevin Fowler if you ask me.

  • thats not true pat green still plays nasty college bars

  • This song and Adam Carroll's errol's song the 2 best country songs ever

  • haha..texdaddy..i think it is funny you say you know texas country when you name a sellout like Pat Green...he is a good country singer but he sold out Texas a long time ago my friend...when you learn your texas country come talk trash..until then..you need to be silent

  • Hey, until you see them in person, DONT KNOCK THEM!, They come to my place of work and play all the time. just like Wade Bowen, Arron Watson, just to name a few of the ones we get. And they are all very down to earth very nice people.

  • Mmmmm. Love them. Love this song. Ahhh. ( :

  • i get butterflies in my stomach thinking about my hubby everytime i hear this song....love it!!!

  • First time I seen these guys was on GAC in Alaska. Had to find them on YOUTUBE so I could put them on my favorite country Playlist. Love It!

  • just one more great thing about texas...its country music...is it only me or does this song want to make you take a road trip?

  • Fuck all the people who say this isnt good. I dont give a fuck if every texas country band sings the same shit over and over again. IT FUCKING ROCKS. makes you wanna just open a beer and fuck jam doesnt it!!!!

  • amazing

  • mazin song makes me wantt to shit backawds

  • love this song he has an AMAZING voice!!

  • You know, sometimes theres more to life than just money and fame.Randy Rogers Band and Eli Young Band preferring to stay small and local just shows that they love their roots, their fans, and their music more than money or fame. They aren't sell outs. They do it for the small crowds cause they know their fans love their music and are loyal and they do it for the love of the music, not for fame or fortune.More musicians should be like these boys!

  • so that's why they're both on major labels right? because they're not sell outs? haha riiight

  • im not saying major labels are bad but dont defend them and say they love their roots and they havent sold out because these guys obviously wanted the money for signing a major label. dont get me wrong, i listened to RRB since day one but they second they signed with mercury and recorded that shitty album i threw them in the trash. hate all you want. half of you couldn't tell me the name of their first album.

  • Sorry Sodahpop96 but it's Randy and Mike you atleast have to get the names right. Shit and if anyone wants to talk some shit about any Texas music artist just quit cause yall prabably aint shit anyways.

  • These guys prefer playing for a small crowd that truly understands their music and can sing along to their older shit, not just their MAJOR shit, aposed to a fuckn sold out stadium where the dumb assses just sit in their assigned seats with no expession.

  • This pretty much sums it up how Jenny feels for Forrest! Hopefully Forrest feels the same for Jenny.

  • I just saw these guys in San Antonio, and it was AMAZING!!!! Not to get too involved in the argument here, because it really doesn't matter, but they seem to like playing to smaller crowds. They're just good ol' country boys and WE LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • i love how i made truthful comments about this band and got rated thumbs down probably by people who have never seen randy rogers live lol.

  • Their Toadies "Tyler" cover is amazing. TEXAS Rock/Country!!! Fukn Woot!!!

  • best damn song ive heard in awhile

  • thank god for all the new music coming out of Texas....the fans in Kentucky are loving it

  • fuck all yall that have a problam with what these guys are doin, they do a damn good job at what they do, o and texdaddy these guys are real songwriters, and the reason they play in texas bars is cause thats where they got there starts and they want to stay true to their fans the people that have been with them since the begain

  • these guys arent any more of songwriters than britney spears my friend. they just write about the same old shit. and trust me, i would know. i grew up going to these shows for years until i realized they were all exactly the same and sung about the same stuff. and i think the real reason they play bars still is because their music doesn't appeal much elsewhere.

  • Isn't it ironic the way we praise the small groups for being "true country" until everyone else starts liking them. then we start seeing them as pop country.... Come on now guys... i Dig Randy Rogers Band i'm not gonna say anything just dig the music i like to hear Shooter, Ragweed, Rogers Band let's rock and roll huh keep the guitars in tune and writing the music you like to write and play......fuck anyone who thinks otherwise-----------CBCS

  • i'd like someone to explain to me why people like randy rogers and the eli young band have MAJOR record labels and still play shit tours 95% of the time in texas at bars

  • Because they are true country music and know where there loyal fans are so they treat us well. They also like the smaller crowd and the free drinks from the bars. Overall they know where the pretty woman and good ol honky tonks are.

  • eh honestly, i would assume by how they've evolved over time and how mainstream they've attempted to become that this is merely all they can do. their music doesn't appeal to a lot of people elsewhere. people from all over the country claim to be "true country". texas country or red dirt whatever you want to call it is just a younger genre. hate to say it but bands like randy and eli are no different than their nashville counterparts.

  • plus true country doesnt involve black and white music videos wearing long coats in the city.

  • The classics were in black and white bro look alive

  • look here's all i'm saying... from a songwriting perspective, a lot of texas country is filled with nothing but buzz words. randy rogers may be appealing to some but he's not going out there and doing anything new. the lyrics are all the same as nashville songs, they all dress the same, the only difference is where the musician hails from. if you ever get the chance, ask a true songwriter like robert earl what his opinion is on people like randy and eli young band.

  • YOur opinions suck. randy rogers and eli young band obviously love what they do. eveyone has their own opinions but you seriously need to loosen up and stop criticizing so much. Like you could do better. Randy and Eli ROCK!!!

  • you kidding me? if i had been playing music professionally for 10 years i certainly wouldn't want to be stuck in bars for the rest of my career. that's the very reason so many texas country musicians have given up over the years. EYB and randy rogers band could both be far more successful but their urgency to sign to large labels proves they want more. these guys have obviously been trying to follow in the steps of green and ingram for years but those guys are far more talented.

  • You have no idea what youre talking about. Just stop posting things on videos if youre gonna make yourself look like a damn fool. Ive seen Randy Rogers Band and Eli Young live and they completely surpass the talent of Pat Green.

  • Are you fuckin' kidding me? Pat Green's only good album was Dancehall Dreamer. Heard the 'new' Pat Green? "In it for the money"... C'mon now. -REAL RRB listener, from DAY ONE.

  • lol selling out isn't based on the sound of an album. please define the SOUND of a sell out album, i'd love to hear what you try to pull out of your ass dipshitfromhell

  • lmao your defending Pat Green? he sold out now he's all nashville!! he's just worried about selling albums and nothing else!! The only good song he will ever have is Crazy but othere then that he's screwed lol you need to hear more texas country

  • lol i know my shit, i grew up in the heart of all this texas country bullshit. i can't even begin to count how many times i went to go see people like bleu edmondson, brandon rhyder, reckless kelly, cory morrow, hayes carl, ragweed, etc. it's just, after having talked to all of them in person i realized how full of shit the entire texas music scene is. and all the dumbfucks on here talking about pat green selling out to nashville HELLO... mercury records is in nashville, randy's label haha

  • all right all right well i also talked to brandon ryhder and he does not seem to be "full of shit" like you say....jamie richards, jason boland, casey donahew, codey riley, kyle hunt band, are more texas country bands that just now how to sing that texas country right!!! now randy's something else cause this is the only song that i truly love from them.....so i aint defending them as much.......

  • hey hey... southbound 35 is a badass song!

  • it prolly is but this is my fav. from them sorry!! lol

  • none of those people have also gotten the big breaks that pat green, randy rogers, and jack ingram have gotten either. brandon rhyder used to be a nice guy but over the years he's become an ass. the whole point i was trying to make on this video is that there's no difference between any of these guys whether it's pat green or casey donahew. they all want success. you guys are basing the "sell-out" factor on how successful they get. if they sell a lot of albums, you all say they're "sell outs"

  • no i'm not basing the sell outs on how many albums they sell i'm basing it on the music sweetie.....you can defenitely tell the difference between nashville co
