I just learned about the bike recently is the gas mileage really 85 mpg? Your bike looks awesome the red classic paint job is terrific. I want to buy a Enfield I hope its as reliable as they claim. The big single 500 cc thumper motor looks easy to work on and maintain.

no disrespect to you or your machine. but, the sound of the new uce engines is more like nails on a blackboard. the exhaust is fine. but the hydraulic tappets are just too noisy. earlier the thump was pure and simple. now there is the added unwanted shrillness to the whole setup

@khwackthoo Yeah but you are also listening to it on a video. Sometimes video carries certain frequencies further, and can completely block out others. The pure and simple thump is there - believe me....I just bought one this weekend, and it is 100x sweeter in person.

@gowthampro You can get the kick-starter with the G-series only. There MAY be a new C-series bike that you can get the kick-starter, but not this model. Check the Royal Enfield site for more info.

well guys i have a standard 350cc kick start bullet...no offfence bt d self start sounds like a girl compared to d ol' bullet's sound..it completely misses the thump...it misses the firing..sounds more like a 150 cc bike..

foolish bike i have ever ridden it doesn't go beyond 120 kmph. very much slower than pulsar 220. poor mileage. self start doesn't work properly most of the time you have to you your kick start. in short this bike is bullshit bike of year

what is the reliability like for the modern RE's compared to those of old. I only ask because i'd love to own a Royal Enfield but I know sod all about engines.

@SuperRobjackson : The older bullets came with a CI (cast iron) engine, which as compared to the new engine (Twinspark, UCE : Unit Construction Engine) had more torque and a better thump (cast iron did the trick) .... but that said, the new UCE engine has a higher top speed (at the cost of a lower torque at low RPM), better pickup and more reliable in terms of maintainability and breakdowns .... BUT having said all that, a Royal Enfield is a Royal Enfield ... whichever you ride, ride safe ;)

@sammylava I'm on the right page my friend! You're probably too young to know this but the Royal Enfield Interceptor was introduced in 1960 as a 692cc twin and bumped up to 736cc's in 1962. They were produced until 1970. Honda's VFR800, also known as the Interceptor, was introduced in 1998. Not trying to embarrass you but I'm an "old fart" and old farts always know too much, lol.

@jerryx2000 The bullet classic is really a good bike, the engine is new (equipped with efi... well i know is not romantic like carburetor...), i fully recoment she to you.

Is not a fast bike, but she's an old lady so if you like this kind of bike go and buy!!! :)
