I've been to partys in Manchester and Hull. Both had MCs and they were OK to pretty solid live. But recorded content that is going to be shown to the world stage? Man, they sound horrible. It has to be with them being turned up so freaking loud you can barely hear the music. If you insist on having MCs talking over quality tunes, at least turn them down so that they become part of the music, not louder than the music.

i love the mcs. Hip hop is a huge part of the culture and the sound, from its very roots. But you have to have been around the scene long enough to understand all the iterations of dnb and what its gone through to really understand, but not to enjoy the culture that its become. They help bridge the gap between the DJ and the audience at an event. Most people search out mixes on Youtube to listen to the tracks and not the MC. I think it's the same reason they don't include MCs on mix cds.
