thats kinda why I love starcraft, all the races have their places and the units themselves are all so unique yet they all have near - equals. zealot was slightly stronger than hydralisk but expensive and melee , then hydralisk beats a marine and for zergling attacks there was always the trusty firebat. awesome game, you had to strategize every move to counter your opponent and conquer his base(s)... Kinda like a game of chess on steroids

the hydralisk was cool but it was only a little stronger than a marine and the marine took half the minerals and half the time to build... but thats what made them kinda cool. Zerg infantry like a marine but at double the price / 4/ 3rds the build time... it was a boutique unit but it bridged the gap nicely between a tank unit ( ultralisk ) and the under powered very inexpensive 2 for 1 zergling
