I think the basic idea here is really cool and Maiko doesn't lack for technique. The funk/swing beat is a fresh way to present the tune. My criticism would be that after hearing the piano player, Maiko's note/scale choices seem safe or bland. I would encourage her to be more adventerous with note choice. A bit outside/inside would really add to tension/release (interest). It seems like a classical player playing jazz more than a jazz player.
However that can be worked on easily. Lots of promise. Very cool!
