A national playoff system would be a lot more fun. It would also make more money. Sixteen teams out of 120 would make the playoff. It would save us from a rigged game between Auburn (a worthy finalist) and Oregon (a questionable one), unless of course Oregon earned their right to be there through the playoff. I found the Auburn-Oregon game too boring to even watch. Boise State has Oregon's number and Boise State was only the third best team in the land..
My point is to help enocurage a national playoff system, which is what football needs on the Division 1 college level. Let's have a fair system for choosing the winner. I still think that Nick Saban is too "gutless" to schedule Boise State. But it is a mistake to imagine I cheer for Boise or am a fan of theirs.

Come on, don't be stupid, NOBODY is excited over a 5-19 record. We are VERY aware of his past record, and I think that everybody was surprised by Chizik's hire. Anyway, he's 0-0 at Auburn now and has quality staff on board. The 200+ at the airport were there to support him regardless of what went down, which says a lot about the Auburn fanbase. And yes, I was there. Chizik was yelling "War Eagle!" as soon as he got off the plane.
By the way, have you ever heard Saban say "Roll Tide?"
