  • Shes Mrs Santa claus

  • This sounds like she sung the song live as they filmed. There's something about Lansbury's voice that is so uniquely wonderful.

  • lol this film is classic!

  • that is SO me!!

  • This definitely applies to the youth of today.

  • I think I have something in my eye.

I... I have something in my other eye too.

    *Sniff* ;^;

  • as a kid I didn't think twice about this song...then my older brother turned the age of not believing, and this song would make me cry. Later I cried because I thought I'd lost him forever and I wondered "where did all the happy endings go, where could all the good times be?" Many years later, he finally believed again that there was something wonderful in him, and now I cry at this song because of how redemptive it is.

So basically...I'm a human hosepipe whenever it comes on, haha.

  • I remember the first time I ever watched this....

  • This movie freaked me out so much when I first I saw it when i was like 4 now at 19 I love it soooooooooo much

  • this made my cry when I watched it again the other day, too much nostalgia, and I'm only 18!

  • Those who enter the age of not believing are cursed to be drowsy, half concious teenagers who think the newest song is the coolest thing in the world. Fight against non belief. Listen to this song, and together we shall believe forever! :D x

  • Thighs movin!

  • 2 people are at the age of not believing

  • I don't believe it! Yet another song that wasn't on my old VHS of this film when I was a kid. That makes about 4 I've found so far. The end credits didn't have that 'Home Guard' song on, etc. Why did they edit out so much?

  • @WeaselKing1000 There was an edition of this film that came out where they got rid of most of the songs in it so that is probably the version you have.

  • @mustang11387 Yeah, I looked it up and that seems to be the case. This song in particular is very craftily edited out...they'll use one shot in the scene but not the next one. The only bits of this that are in my version are the shots of Charlie (apart from "what's that s'posed to be, poetry?", cos that refers to the song); and Miss Price saying "Everyone on the bed who's going", and "the knob, Paul" (both times the shot quickly changes so it doesn't show any singing). Oh dear : /

  • Every age has it's own not believing. Snif !!! ....

  • You have no idea how much this song means to me :')

  • In italian this scene was not singing!

  • I love this it's so true and the song is cool

The age of not believing :(

  • throw that into the waste basket!

  • where did all the happy endings go??... where can all the good times be??

  • i love this song, i think it's true. every kid goes through this phase-trying to be an adult by growing up

  • One of my favorite movies growing up and one of my favorite songs from the film!!

  • I loved this movie so much! I never knew anyone else remembered it.

To be PERFECTLY honest, I liked this movie more than the Mary Poppins one.

  • @Tiramees so did i, this was so much more fun

  • I grew up with this movie!!!!!

  • i will neva grow up i refuse!!

  • this is how i feel about pretty much everyone i meet. Everyone is so trapped inside their own mind, thinking they have to be 'grown ups' im always going to believe!

  • @qprmanzz

parents and school with their immaturity teach kids that growing up is about doing the opposite of what is preached recklessly, becoming cynical and cold-hearted. The bad thing is that grown-ups are the least to know something about growing up. Growing up is not about becoming cold, cynical and stuck up, it's about doing what you think is right not easy, being who you want to be, stand for your ideas. Growing up should actually improve our ability to believe and dream

  • my birthdays on the same date as angela lansburys

  • @josephmc97 lucky

  • I love love love love this song!!!

  • I like Helena B. Carter, but Angela... well, SHE WILL ALWAYS BE MRS. LOVETT for ME!

  • I love this still love this at 22, angela Lansbury is amazing in this movie

  • This song is such an enormous comfort for some bizarre reason. Angela's voice is just the voice of childhood for me.

That aside, she can't make a bed for crap.

  • @jarvisel Same, reminds me of my childhood so much, it makes me feel a bit sad :( I watched this movie over and over..

  • @jarvisel Same, it reminds me of my childhood so much, It makes me kinda sad :(, I used to watch this movie like every week from 2-6 years old, good times...kinda get that eerie feeling from the song.

  • bittersweet

  • Angela lansbury is so cool!! I love her!

  • Never really had an age of not believing. Too much Disney films does that to you.

  • my grandma sang this song to me as i was a child. lovely memorys.

  • This was my favourite film as a kid. It's weird how prophetic it was. By the time I got to that age I had forgotten all about it. How true it was!

  • This song puts a lump in my throat!

It's so true! And i love it and the film, brings back so many childhood memories :) x

  • I watched this movie last weekend :D

    It really brings back memories!

I couldn't believe it when Brucy popped up in it tho! x

  • lovely & sad x

  • OMG....I haven't been able to get this song out of my head for a week....LOL it reminds me of my childhood so much. This movie and Mary Poppins.

  • same with me. reminds me of my childhood! just the country look of the house and the little villiage!!

  • Look up Roy Snart (Paul in this movie) on Wikipedia - i don't know if its some kinda joke or what lmao

  • Childhood nostalgia right here.

  • OMG I used to love this film!

  • Use to? Don't you still?

  • We taped this off the Disney Sunday movie like 20 years ago, and years later (still kind of long ago) I discovered that they cut this song out (except the instrumental version) of the broadcast, presumably to make it fit the airtime (in other words, so that they could cram two more commercials in). The song doesn't fit so seamlessly into the story, but it's just such a good song nevertheless. I was so upset. I'm glad it wasn't lost to time.

  • <3<3<3<3<3

  • k, so you totally cut out the best part... lol, the bit where they're flying around on the bed to a jazzed up version of "The Age of Not Believing", right after this scene, is THE BEST PART. Why the fuck'd you cut it out!? D:

  • This sucks because it's true, the age of not believing.

  • in the italian version this song was cut!

  • Say what?! That's blasphemy! Madness, even! D8

  • I LOVE THIS SCENE

  • so do I.....love the film

  • Im 15 ad ive never been in the age of not believing yea little sibs help but not always

  • I am past 12 and I never had my age of not beleiving!!! WHOA!!! It helps that I have lil sibs...lol

  • I bet Mrs. Price makes the worst pies in London!

  • I'm twenty-three and this was...heck, still is, my favorite Disney movie EVER. I used to watch it at my aunt's house every time I went over and finally my mom bought me the movie. I watched it so much I wore the tape out!

  • I watched this movie after having seen Angela Landsbury in "Murder She Wrote". I was about 10 or 11 years old then.

  • I love reading how many people at 23 and under who love this movie. Im in my 30s and remember seeing it in the theater and loving it. My nieces and nephers have never heard of it, such tragedies must be rectified!

  • I'm only 20 and I think this movie is amazing. My grandma has made sure I saw all the older classics and be able to appreciate them the way my mother and her sisters remembered also when the films first came out :)

  • im 14 and love it !!!!!

  • Indeed. Every child should see this wonderful film. I never got to see it in theaters, but it is still a big part of my childhood.
