I love El Negro. He's fantastic. But I kinda feel like he's walking all over Marc Quinones by overplaying with the toms. I'd give the conguero a bit more room.
Ooooohhh men!!, i wish never, ever not even think about learn or just tray to play drums, Horacio Hernandez is God playing drums, i have to born again to tray to play like that men.....Grande tocayo!!! asi somos los Horacio´s.....;)
con respeto : Horacio Hernandez tiene pelo para dar y regalar ( alcanzaria para dos bisoñes uno para Hilario y otro para Michael Brecker ! If Horacio could donate part of his hair, Hilario and Brecker could have a tailor made wig .
I wonder if it was a struggle for Brecker...since he's an american jazz saxofonist...most americans have trouble playing latin jazz or latin music altogether...I wonder, because there's no way to know, I think brecker performed incredibly good and he's still one of my favorites
Since he showed no signs whatsoever of struggling I think you have your answer. Brecker was a consumate musician who loved to play. He has played many latin feel tunes and shines as he does in any other context or format.
H Hernandez is sooo excellent. He was smiling when M Brecker was playing his heart out. Of course Horacio was playing his heart out too. The greatest!!!
Hey people, don't you think Hilario Duran deserve much more succes all over the world? In Europe is not so well known, all my respect to Michel Camilo, Chucho Valdes, Hector Martignon, ect....I love them, great! ...But Hilario is without any doubt a big monster, Incredible, I discover his playing and talent not long ago and I'm completelly schocked, he gives me so much emotions and imputs.
@hamletlatinjazz same thing about Edward Simon, who by the way has just composed and presented a Piano Concerto in Venezuela. In jazz there is so much talent, only the most showy innovators can get a big name, for instance, by now there probably isn't gonna be many jazz superstars for a whole generation, till the big names gets old and a new trend of jazzmen take charge
i got the privilege to jam with Hilario once, it was enigmatic, than told me to play the congas quieter. lol
