  • I had a CRKT Minimalist for a couple of years and gifted it off to a friend when he lost his EDC knife. Since he's one of only 2 friends of mine who love knives, I felt he'd really appreciate it. I'd have to say it really was the best $20 I've ever spent on a blade. I'll have another one sometime soon.

  • Made in China Piece of crap. Love the CRKT name on the blade But made in China POS.

  • Which hobby do you enjoy the most

  • I'm going to the knife store today don't know if i should get the minimalist, the ambitious, or the persistance i don't have any spydercos so I'm thinking about getting one but i don't know which is better. please help

  • Hi there, fantastic review, if only they were all this good. I have a question: at the very end you mentioned that you don't care for the Tanto version, and I was just wondering if this was a matter of taste or if you thought it had some disadvantage or shortcoming that you might know of. I just ordered the Tanto one because I love that shape and feel in general, but would like to know your thoughts on it anyway. Thanks..

  • Awesome review, love mine! And the Wharncliffe has it's own sheath, cause that's the one I have :) And also, the scales are Micarta. I'm thinking of making some custom G-10 scales for it. Also, G-10 is not trade marked, it's just a material :)

  • What blade style would be best for this knife? overall.

  • @JNard829

I like the bowie best! :D

  • @alanoskull so you would recommend the bowie version? what about the handles do you like the fatter bowie one as well?

  • @JNard829

The difference isn´t too big, it depends on you, if you have really small hands you should maybe buy the wharncliffe but for the average user it wont matter.

All three versions are good and very usefull, it´s all about personal preference.

  • Cool, wish they did a Razel blade. Thanks.

  • can i use this as a boot knife?

  • @bigdiqqa no

  • I shuddered when you shaved your thumbnail to show the sharpness.....:-

  • Hey Jeff. Do you plan on reviewing the Byrd Hawkbill? I saw that reviewed the Crossbill already.

  • I was thinking about getting a neck knife and I see this, you're AWESOME

  • I think you still don't understand why some people like sharp jimping... That is helpful if you stab with the knife and accidently slip forward on the handle. It prevents a nasty cut on you 4 other finger not your thumb.

  • So... I don't know what it is... But I have an obsession with tanto blades... I'm a tanto freak...

  • your current edc is the kabar dozier

  • when i was 11 i wished somebody would make a show on tv all about knives ... but didn't

  • I love my CRKT minimalist wharncliff. It is the most comfortable neck knife to wear under a shirt. The jimping on mine is almost as good as on my Spyderco Manix 2. Thanks for the review. More people could use the affordable and utilitarian three finger patch knife (I shoot black power so it gets double duty in my shooting kit). Catch you on down the trail.

  • hahahaha "if you're about to go to bed you can watch the details later." Well, if you insist, Jeff. Goodnight!

  • I want that crkt

  • great vid i just ordered one thanks

  • thanks for putting it out there gots to do h.w

i may get the knife now if i have the money

  • dos any 1 no uk legal folders

  • great video Jeff

  • I've had this knife for more than a year and I prefer it to other neck knives that cost me three times as much. The finger choils are great and it holds an edge better than I thought it would. I agree with you on the handle...mine looks tarnished as well, but I still love the knife! Nice job!

  • crkt didn't have anything to do with the design of this knife, its an alan folts custom put into production, the customs are only 125 you can buy them at gpknives.com

  • hey, can you do a review on the glock 78 field knife?

  • 9 people are sneel flobs

  • ive been thinking about getting this knife too, ive been in the market for a good small neck knife that dissapears out of my way yet right there when i need it, mainly for cutting grapefruit or fruit in general lol...i chose a tdi ldk on your review of it, cuz i needed something with a nice tip, i had no clue there was a warncliffe version of the minimalist...but since its a good price why not! i hope they make a hawksbill, crkt makes the most innovative knives i swear!

  • @cutlerylover with the belt clip would it be possible to do a vertical inside the waistband carry if you didnt want to wear a belt

  • You got that chain from Walmart didn't you? ;) Around 30 bucks?

  • That necklace is old school, I had one in the 8th grade and thought I was the shit!

  • I bought two of these when I saw it in your EDC update, one for a friend and one for myself. I've really enjoyed carrying it as a neck knife and find it fun to cut with. Thanks for the recommendation.

  • Mob Mentality buddy. 19:15

  • Thumbs up if you went to go to CRKT.com and the server was down for you.

  • I have the wharncliff version, it just chillaxes in my car as a backup.

  • The custom version has ATS-34 steel

  • I'd recommend the Benchmark Backpacker I think you'd love it! Great review Jeff

  • uuuuuuuuaa giveaway

  • wow i actualy was messing with a knife during this video

  • how much weight have u lost to date? i just watched a video from 3 years ago and i am amazed at how much better you look.

  • cold steel large voyager 2011 !! just for the fun of it ;)

  • it's maicarta scales

  • Was your pointing tool the "small" Cold Steel Voyager you got from Tex?

Isn't horizontal carry considered "scout carry"? Or is that only when the knife is mounted horizontally, and on your back, not on the side? Thanks Cutlery Lover for another awesome review.

  • I carry one everyday, it's a very good knife!

  • your edc was a cold steel medium voyager. do i get bonus points?

  • i have the one with a wharncliffe blade.

  • Just a note:

The Wharncliffe has it's own sheathe, I have it in front of me.

  • Random but how much was your victorinox swiss card?

  • I've been looking into getting one of these.

  • Look at that bling

  • had i saw this video one day earlier i woulda added it to my cart!

  • Great review. Thanks for your input.

  • Looking forward to the new giveaway Jeff! Love all your videos and watch them all, even the rant about produce isle kid and shoulder nipples.

  • You seem a lot more happy and energetic now. Are you getting some? Haha j/k Jeff, loving the new style you have going on.

  • When it comes to small neck knives, CRKT gets it.

  • nice knife jeff thanks for the video i carry a crkt crawford falcon neck knife myself.hardly know its there anymore.but i know when its not lol.

  • Hey Jeff. I really love knives but you should do some more gun videos

  • @cutlerylover it's not g10, it's micarta like on your small sabenza.

  • why are all your video so long??? cut to the point

  • @jimmyjames1994 Don't watch.

  • Hmmm, just looked at my warncliff and the sheath definately matches? Maybe you did get the incorrect one?

  • Comment removed

  • jeff wtf, when you cut into your fingernail it erked me, just scrape some why did you cut into your nail that deep? i`m still jittering from watching that.

  • mouth exercises before you turn the camera on... that is most definitely what she said

  • Hey dude when are you going to do another gun video? lol just wondering if you've got anything new/sold anything.

  • great to see a new review from you jeff. Everybody should check out the video response to this vid to, cause that guy does great reviews as well. As always keep it up Jeff

  • Comment removed

  • I just ordered one of these last week. Should be here in the mail tomorrow. Now I really cant wait... Thanks for psyching me up even more than I already was Jeff! Hope you enjoy the rest of YOUR day!

  • I do like it very much as well, but I still think the Izula is better though!

  • Great review, Jeff!

  • did your fingers get smaller from poking the hot grease out? lol just kidding, great video jeff! :)

  • The S&W neck knife also comes with the tanto sheet. I thought that i got the wrong sheet at first :P But it's smart what they are doing, less costs for them.. Love the knife Jeff, I think I'm gonna get one myself!

  • That knife can also be laced into a boot. Idk if u said that in vid.

  • at 19:00 it's called going mainstream...

  • @callofduty767 its also called nutnfancy haha...love his videos but theres too many fanboys of his

  • @callofduty767 it's called "Apple"

  • can you do one of those "stress test" videos like you done with that orange folder a while ago! its really interesting watching a knife be dunked in salt water etc.

  • appreciate the knife review. thanks

  • How much

  • Like all the stuff you put on YT. thanks.

  • Do you think you can you explain the pros and cons of the different models? Why did you choose the bowie style as opposed to the tanto or razor style blades?

  • Cool little blade, Jeff. But needs more jimping.

    Just kidding.

  • I could cut myself with a tenacious... good thing it has awesome jimping

  • @imjamesskiingrocks needs gimping

  • when you said to pull the knife out while watching i did so, the following "you're probably flicking one open right now" did surprise me a bit

  • @cutlerylover Dear cutlerylover I'm new to knives and i was wondering if you could help explain about assisted Opening knives

I know they are different from Automatic knives but i don't know if they are spring loaded or work Just on the small tabs on the back or side of the blade to open them i'm assuming they are spring loaded (i'm guessing thats what assisited opening means ) or whether that refers to having the tabs/protrusions/etc on the blade

  • I get the feeling this review would have been much different if you hadn't lost all the weight

  • Hey Jeff can you try to do some more zippo and balisong videos?

  • Jeff, try to get a Benchmade 210

  • and FYI. the minimalist is a alan folts design. a custom knife maker.

its not CRKT that came up with this knife.

  • the wharncliff version does have its sheath molded after the wharncliff shape and not the tanto shape.

the lanyard is there to provide grip for ur pinky finger.

own 2 custom alan folts minimalists.

  • A great higher end neck knife if you are bad at sharpening or just want a high end steel is the spartan enyo. I have had mine for a few months and absolutely love it, it even kicked my sebenza out of my pocket.

  • lol

    After: youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=m3jMysDR6RI#t=34s

    Good for you

  • anyone know what a good knife for the smaller hand is?

  • btw Jeff i believe one of your videos should include the basics (at least) on sharpining your knife) :)

  • Jeff, if you gunk your hand with motor oil while holding this knife, you're probably murdering someone lol! :P

  • Now that's rambling at it's best,my friend.I have worn and own neck knives, but honestly I cannot stand wearing one around a campsite or in the bush. I just can't do it!:(For me,a good pocketknife, and a small to medium fixed blade in a belt sheath can perform most of my tasks. If not,a full size fixed blade is always nearby.CRKT does indeed have a very nice selection of cutting tools, and I am one of their biggest fans.Keep on rambling & being honest, that's what a lot of us like about u.Take care:)

  • Yes finally, a knife review.

  • @chrisadmaley He talks about that about halfway through the review.

  • thanks for the video Jeff!!! really want to get one of these but warncliffe

  • come on man 30 minutes? i love you jeff but 30 minutes for a knife review is a bit excessive don't you think?

  • @zunedog31 Nah it was just the right length. he told us all the important stuff and his opinion too.

  • @zunedog31 come on man he did a short bit at the start, give him a break, with neg comments like this would you realy be suprised in the end if we ended up with like 3min clips saying ''yeah its ok get it'' me personaly i like putting one of his reviews/storys on and tinckering around with my hobbys, give it a go. Jeff keep it up man the short bit in the start gives people the choice, its up to them. btw the price of the cricket over here(uk) is a stupid one at nealry £70! :( i love that knife.

  • Hey jeff,

Isn't this a custom knife that crkt got permission and pays the owner of the design to produce? So really its not an original design by crkt....its a custom maker and they were popular.

  • This is a great design. I've had the wharncliffe version for a few years. My only complaint is that eventually the sheath retention decreased and it started falling out. I need to make a new sheath for it, i miss carrying it.

  • lol i was getting on ebay to check out the minimalist and i switch over to youtube and see a new cutlerylover vid about the minimalist. couldnt have been more perfect timing ha. i think thats fate that i have to buy one now. good review

  • Finally! :D I just got mine in the mail today and love it it's a neat little knife.

  • I just ordered one of these a few days ago, should arrive on tuesday or so. I'm very excited.

  • @iplaysthedrums ordered mine thursday lol

  • Edc knife was a cold steel voyager? Maybe the one tex sent him? It wasn't the custom

  • @WetSocks97 Pretty sure that's his Voyager clip point, yeah

  • Guessing that knife would be worth about $500.00 in prison.

  • Awesome knife.

  • do a video of you sharping!!!!!

  • lol isnt the purpose of a place mat to catch food that falls of or spilled somthing i feel like this wouldnt do much

  • Hi Jeff. I don't have time to watch the whole video but can you tell me if you cover perturbation theory and how it is a set of approximation schemes directly related to mathematical perturbation for describing a complicated quantum system in terms of a simpler one? K? Thanks.

  • i held my minimalist bowie this whole video, and towards the end where the scale in the back wasnt attached, is only yours or a few unlucky people. mine is nice and flush. i hate how large the minimalism txt is though.

  • Hey Jeff, please review the USAF knife?

  • Okay, probably the lamest question ever, but: how's the dental surgery coming along? I'm curious :P.

  • finally, back to the knife videos

  • Nice I got this a few months ago!

  • Very cool knife Jeff....and awesome a giveaway!

  • The scales are micarta

  • Jeff, I loved his kinfe too, until I got the tops hoffman harpoon (smalest one) I like the handel of the tops better, I re-wrapped it in bank line and made my own mini kydex sheath. I just never loved the handel on the CRKT. And the handel of the hoffman can be hafted to a spear point. Just my humble thoughts, take care and thanks for the post!

  • giveaway!

  • Thanks for the review - I purchased the CRKT Minimalist Wharncliffe blade version after watching this! Model 2385

  • I agree this is a great neck knife and a favorite of mine to carry. This makes a good knife for prepping small game too.

  • Can you do a collection and a knife storage video please thanks and keep up the good work I LOVE your videos

  • Pointer knife was the Cold Steel Voyager. I bought one after I saw yours. Excellent knife, it's my EDC knife now.

  • Hay Jeff the handle matirial is micarta not g-10

  • Do more story time videos

  • I know for a fact that companies pay people to go search for product reviews of the products they produce. That includes youtube and web articles.

  • @bacz123rock Disliked

  • none of your videos are crap.

  • Like this if your one of the 304'th viewers :D

  • Good review! The CRKT Minimalist! This is my second knife on my to get list ,but after watching your review it is be a done deal. I think I am getting a knife fettish of sorts lately with my purchase of the Sog Flash II Tanto from Amazon.I paid a reasonable $41.00 USD for the Flash and put the CRKT 2387 model on my wish list which Amazon sells these knifes for $18.95 USD. I live in Canada and these knifes are legal. Imagine that with all the politicians trying to get all our guns banned. Mike

  • jeff do you like this more then the Izula by RAT

  • Hey jeff i really liked how you started this video i was on my way to the store when i saw you had this video up and i watched it for 3 minutes and bought the knife as soon as i could thanks a lot keep up the knife videos please

  • Hey i didnt have time currently to watch the whole video, but could someone tell me if this is a bead blasted blade? Thanks!

  • @mathnerdm yes it is

  • @cutlerylover what knife sharpener/sharpening system do you use

  • i actually just bought this knife today

  • Jeff, you have a stumpy thumb

  • "you're probably flicking one out, playing with it anyway".. as I finish stropping my 110 and begin flipping open my leek ;) I always find myself playing with that knife. It's just a fun one.

  • cutlery lover has new giveaway coming soon thats pretty cool ... check the tags lol

  • The Blade must come in handy for working out your hands. Lol.

  • Comment removed

  • You sneaky bastard. I was playing around with my knife when you made that comment :/

  • @pyrobombs Same here. I was fondling my neck knife too. made from hammer welded stainless steel cable . I should try to make a short video on it.

  • jeff, i dont like the new background personally, it takes up alot of camera detail and makes the knife less detailed

  • I love being a steel snob and well the super steels are suited for my task of cutting up cardboard. Plus with your higher end steels they have a finer grain structure so they can take a clean edge.

  • FINALLY! A knife review! :'D

  • Nice knife, but I'd advocate the Cold Steel Urban Pal for a neck knife. The push knife grip enables one to still use one's hands without compromising the knife grip, especially in the self defense scenario for which the knife was intended. Just my opinion. Nice video.

  • finally a knife review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 lol

  • hey Jeff can you please do a video about how to loosen your knife and how, and what you use, to lubricate your folding knives. if your not going to make a video please can you message me back. Thank You

  • Jeff, your videos sometimes make me...stiff.

  • What kind of handle scales is it... What material did CRKT use G10,plastic,CF, etc.

  • Jeff, more story times!

  • Jeff, more story times!

  • Listen other fixed blade knives, ima let you finish.. BUT CRKT had one of the BEST knives of all time.

  • Love this little knife, I have the wharn version but the sheath mine came with is molded to the wharn blade. I've always wanted to get the Bowie model. Great video

  • Jeff Dude I like all your videos but damn am I glad you posted this little neck knife review. I have been wondering about it since you first showed it.

  • I prefer the Kabar TDI.

  • Sweet CRKT Minimalist Neck Knife Jeff

  • sweet mat! wat is it?

  • hey Jeff iv'e been watching your videos for a long time now and iv'e noticed your para cord bracelets so i learned how to make them and i now where one so thanks. and also thanks for all the videos and keep it up

  • @dxjustindx1 no problem, thanks for enjoying the videos!
