Ya, take the bridge, the bridge takes you right onto huron line and that turns into the 401. the tunnel is only good for local traffic but soon there will be a new bridge and a new freeway that connects to the 401 and the EC Row expressway, what you took was the EC Row expressway, that goes from west Windsor to east Windsor and then it turns into a county road. You were on Manning Rd when you found the 401
It would no doubt be nice if 401 were extended just a little further west, crossed the border and then connected to I-75...but that would be too simple.
@broadhurst04 Actually, thats what their doing, they are by passing huron line and building a new freeway that conects to I-75 via a new bridge, it's called the Windsor/Essex parkway, construction of the parkway started 2 months ago
border crossings are always unnerving not matter what... they somehow always manage to make us feel like criminals... I always manage to get lost at least once...
Looking for short cuts has brought me to many dead ends lol. Sometimes your instict with direction works. I often look at the signage in Sydney and think if I was a tourits I would be completely confused and lost.
They always ask that question because the amount of goods that you bought there and are allowed to bring back duty free differs with the amount of time you were away...
I think my editing is getting smoother so that there are fewer snags for things to get stuck on... There were not many new videos going up in the last 24 hours, so maybe that's why it went so well.
I'm surprised that Canada and the US does not apply the same border relation as the Scandinavaian countries, i.e you don't even need a passport to cross the borders.. Coming off the ferry from Denmark you just walk straight into Sweden.. or the other way round! On the odd occasion you may see a customs officer, or a passport police, but it is VERY rare.. I still remember the baffled look on my parents-in-laws faces the first time I took them across the border from Denmark.. :) :)
The Canadians have put up that sign 'All Highways', just after the tunnel.. to fool the Americans.. :) :) Obviously it tricks the odd native as well.. :) :)
Things used to be mostly that way before 911 and the Americans getting all paranoid with their war on terrorism and their homeland security... I did have my car searched a few times in the 80s and 90s, and they never found anything :)

Border crossings are like long red traffic lights to me... I never have anything incriminating, so it's nothing but a big waste of time.

No matter where you drive in the world...the road signs seem to disappear...!

LOL I'd be better at Windsor and Detroit had I grown up in the area :)

That was a cluster. I'm used to driving only by signs. At least there was no cavity search.

When a place is unfamiliar I drive by signs too... The only other places this ever happened to me were Long Island and Cleveland.

i hate driving in tunnels.
it freaks me out!
you have to tell the customs people how long you were gone? that seems odd.

I went by so many people's houses on that trip that I'd still be visiting if I stopped to visit everyone...
