Rocco did'nt want her to die... He is being pressured and threatened by his brother, he fears for his safety... If he did'nt alert the doctor that she was waking up then she would have been choking on the tube and when they'd eventually come in the room they'd see Rocco just standing there watching her choke and ask why he did'nt get them?... They would suspect him then, it would look a bit dodgy.
