It annoys me a bit at Nickel Creek concerts when people clap and yell during the song. I realize they are showing their appreciation for a great group, however to me it shows that you really don't care what they are playing. I found it hard to hear the amazing solos that were played because of people clapping and yelling. Show appreciation when the song is over!
All the more reason to get front row seats. I think it gives the musicians a rush when the fans claps, but for solo playing I agree it's better to let the musician shine and let the audience hear the clarity of the performance.
yea, usually the clapping occurs because one of the members starts clapping to the audience. trust me... lol i've been to like 4 thile shows... it always happens... but i agree, sometimes i wish i could just have in-ear monitors direct from thile's mando lmfao
@oflynny I see where you're coming from, but I think that sort of music is meant to be enjoyed that way! I also think Mr. Thile appreciates it when others show their appreciation! :-)
Never was a fan of Bluegrass or country

actually, the bass player back there usually starts the audience clapping on this song. I just saw him do it at a show last night again

...especially whey they really should be clapping on the offbeats. But yeah I know what you mean, I'd rather hear them without any noise!
