Aerosmith tried to make a go of it without Joe and Brad at one time, but it didn't work. Deep Purple without Blackmore ain't the same. The Stones without Keith? Forget it. Thin Lizzy without Phil Lynott? Dead in the water. Granted, it wouldn't be the same without Steven, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't still rock.

Steven has shown a positive influence on his American Idol gig. We all have been hanging onto that rope to heaven or hell. Admit it, we have all been there at one time or another! Perry should be more frustrated by the fact that, thanks to sites like youtube, many of Aerosmith's fans now now that he didn't write or play many of the songs or even guitar riffs and solos on their records from the mid to late 1970s. The producer was known to hire artist to contribute to the recordings. Ha!

I saw them with jimmy crespo and trust me, if Joe Perry left again I would not go to see Aerosmith. Out of the 6 times I saw them they only sucked once. They were a shell of the real Aerosmith without Whitford and Perry.

Since this interview we all know that OF COURSE Steven is now clean and sober. That's all Joe wanted. Steven just took quite a bit longer than the other band members to clean up. Steven is doing fantastic as a judge on American Idol and Aerosmith will be back on the road shortly.

The problem is he knows that without the band and Steven in front He doesn't have much of a fan base so he knows he needs the full band to sell tickets and pack arenas .
