Has anyone heard the New T2 (blacks) directly against the T2 (silver older models)? Yes i know the Watt ratings are different between the two but from a sound quality and clearness standpoint is there a large difference?
Got a ?...is your box braced at all? Got the t2 and a t1500.1bd.....I'm going to build the high output box off the rf website....but I suck at calculating the box design so I'm doing it exactly as the picture...bracing would change all the calculations...so I guess a better ? Would be is if your box isn't braced is it flexing at all?
@mayyay1232 haha nicely done ! What i did was had it in a box with 1.04 cu.ft rather then the 3.04 it asks for .. and I ended up im guessing over heating it as it is now SOLID stiff .. wont move./
clipping an amp and distortion kills subs the quickest, as the amp can deliver 3-4 times it's power rating then. and also it can go DC, where the cone just stays in one position for too long and the coil heats up red hot like an element.
it's supposed to move about and have a pole vent to cool the voice coil.
Nah. Im not saying you're 100% wrong, clipping maybe, but distortion is nothing. Go on the RF support page and look it up. It states it clearly "Contrary to popular belief, distortion does not actually damage speakers"... Its there. JL and MTX are on the same boat. Even Memphis buddy. If you run a sub at 400rms and its 1000rms and you turn it up to distortion, does it blow? Not a chance. Not even at 1000rms. Clipping is different.
That kinda doesn't make any sense either. Thats like saying that I can go buy a 500w amp, put it on a 1500w sub, then just clip the amp signal to the sub and voila, i have all the power i need from that lil 500w amp to drive my 1500w sub at full power. You mean I've been wasting my money on every amp I ever matched power to power ratings for amps and subs respectively? Dang, I can't believe this! lol jk jk
Actually I'm pretty sure power blows speakers vato. Ex- 500W rms coil recieves 1000W rms power... A coil designed to take a continous 500W rms will die after not too long on 1000W rms because it can only dissipate heat well enough to "safely" recieve 500W rms for extended periods of time. Granted, some subwoofers will take the abuse, but I would't get too overconfident when overpowering a sub. You can distort a sub ALL day and it won't blow. Overpower a sub enough and it can blow in seconds.
a 500w rms speakers thats well decent will be fine on a 1000w rms amp providing it's not at full gain or a sine wave. music is dips and peaks so 1000w rms won't reach it continously anyway.
Son, when you're playing young jeezy and screwed extended bass notes all day, things will get ugly for you on a 500wRMS sub recieving more than 800rms. Believe me, I know this. Not by opinion, not by screw ups in the past, just plain seen it happen.
Yeah I have a box custom made for my T1 from American Radio and its bigger than that box. Time to get a new one! But these still kick ass man....GO FOSGATE!
well i have the T1 2 12'' s but i just wanted to now what the difference was. one more thing i am powering my subs wih a pioneer 760 watt amp wich only deivers 350 watts per sub since it divides it my question is culd i hurt the subs since i am putting half the RMS and i just wanted to know it sounds good with only 360 watts t i don't turn it up that high all the time thinking i will hurt my subs
T2's can handle 1000 watts RMS, 2000 watts Peak and T1's can only handle 600 watts RMS, 1200 Peak. T1's also only weigh 30 LB and the T2's come in at a whomping 59 LB. The magnet on the T2's are considerably Larger than that of the T1's. Also, the surrounding material around the cone in the T2 is made of an Thermo-Plastic Elastomer, the T1 is made of rubber. I'm also not sure when the release dates of each sub were, I hope this helps if you want to know anything else message me..
@punk88yay yeah people really dont understand the quality of the T2 you can get one T2 15 on a 1000bd down to 1 ohm and hit a little past the 145db range. Expecially on 1 ohm the T2 really likes to see it at 1 ohm
@punk88yay yeah people really dont understand the quality of the T2 you can get one T2 15 on a 1000bd down to 1 ohm and hit a little past the 145db range. at around 40hz Expecially on 1 ohm the T2 really likes to see it at 1 ohm.
allright thnks dude ok another Q everytime i turn y stero up to 47 out of 61 the amp turns off on the song king kong and Down by ay seanbut my amp only turns off when my car is off nd whn the car is running sometimes it wont do it. why is that
It does that because when your car is off, the alternator is not charging your battery to supply enough voltage to your amp so it shuts itself off. King Kong has really low bass which requires your amp to draw more current; low voltage is the culprit.
nice setup bro 5/5 stars. if u can can u drop a rating or 2 on my videos i only got 2 uploaded so far and they are worth watching. im running a logitech z-5500 sound system in my room and the video really shows off the capabilities of my system, so itd be awesome if u could drop a couple ratings and props on your system bro...............peace and ill rate all of your other sub vids 5/5 stars
a guy i know had a pair of the 15's and was hittin 150.1. it was in a huge box! w/ 2 t2000bd powering each one! shit was insane! w/ a better box and more power your system will kickass! 5*
