  • bilko1234 , thank you so much for uploading - this is beautiful :)

  • I believe that's Donal's Blarge that I built for him. Bouzouki (670 mm scale) with extra fifth bass course. I believe it got destroyed in a house fire.

    Andy Manson.

  • It was known as a 'blarge'-play on words;bouzoukiLarge. He plyed it a lot when Planxty re-formed.

  • Wow, this isn't Donal's usual bouzouki from that period. It looks like a 5 course cittern, but still looks & sounds very much like it was made by Peter Abnett. I've never seen him play one of these before, sounds fantastic! Thanks for posting this treasure.

  • What do you mean "deleted"? Not available in any form now, I guess? I recall that LP fondly---perhaps even still have a cassette of it somewhere (but no cassette player anymore!) Thanks once again for these magnificent posts.

  • wow!! vraiment inédit!!!!!

  • Thank you sooooo much bilko1234! Where on earth do you get all this amazing stuff? Did you make a deal with the fairies?

  • very pretty piece, thanks

  • The title of this piece is Fairfield Mirage. It was included on the album, "The Gathering" with Paul Brady, Peter Browne, Andy Irvine, Donal Lunny, Matt Molloy and Tommy Potts. Great album!

  • Love it. Thanks, bilko1234!
