  • I predict mega earthquake in California this year 2010.

    A 3.5 struck California today.

  • @TheIxtlan I hope your wrong about the big one striking in 2010... Yikes!

  • @FARTYPANTS30 Earthquake is known to strike San Francisco during hot weather condition. They say when the weather is hot in San Francisco, they call it "Earthquake Weather". Watch out for "Earthquake Weather".

  • because 13 is a bad number, they named 13th Avenue after Funston. I wonder why.

  • My nonno Andrew who was a garbageman for Sunset Scavenger was a baby at that time the earthquake and fire hit San Francisco.

  • No better history lesson than seeing it on film during that time. Great film. Thanks.

  • tomorrow is april 18!

  • SO! It was that announcers fault san fran is gay and festive now! Get im!!

  • I wonder why the government would say that only 500 died when it was actually over 3,000... They probably said it to not scare people so they wouldn't move back to the city.

  • @FRANKYDING it had something to do with not wanting to scare ppl i.e. tourist and investors, away from the city. they were afraid ppl would not rebuild.

  • @chocolicc oh alright, thanks :)

  • I wonder if we could take care of 100,000 homeless today?

  • Lol he was right when he said gay and festive.

  • How scary and every 150 yrs we get a big earthquake shit were so close from 1906

  • @yesenia1070 ya i noticed that 2. its like a damn tradition or something

  • Ask the Chinese if the government cared. The quake was exactly the right excuse for the government to ship all the Chinese to Oakland and then not let them rebuild Chinatown for years.

  • Wow...back when the government actually cared about it's people. They acted quickly, provided food and shelter, and maintained order. This was in the early 1900's and they still did a better job than we did with Katrina!

  • amen, aaron. we shudda taken Bush to task on that. "good job, Brownie"..while bodies floated in the 5th largest city, and the mouth of the mighty Misissippi..an uniquely American Atrocity..not because we didn't have the money, or the resources...but we just didn't care. Shame on us all, for not making a big issue out of it..Some are still involved. Read an article/ I think it was Brad Pitt, involved, with not only his mouth but his money.

  • 600 Million Gallons of Wine was lost that day!!

  • whitch is worse? titanic, or this?

  • @PacRowSF speak for YOURSELF!!

  • @PacRowSF - there freaking hot chicks there too

  • @PacRowSF And what is your point? Yeah there are gay folks in SF and in every city in the fucking world.

  • I heard that the massive San Fransisco earthquake caused around 3 times more deaths than the sinking of the Titanic.

  • That is something. What's amazing is the fact that survivors of the 1906 earthquake are still alive while each and every Titanic survivor is now dead.

  • Love these old clips very informative and educational

  • I like it very much.

  • There were times when the History Channel would show a short film like this. I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of them.

  • I like how they shake the photos to simulate the earthquake. Good clip.

  • Yes...high-tech special effects from the 1950s.

  • Another fellow old movie lover! Keep up the good work, mate! :)
