  • That's in south carolina?

  • About 1972/73 I was hitchiking from Iowa up to Canada to get a job on the oil rigs. Got a lift from a couple outside Calgary, went back to their place, 'smoke that and listen to this' they said. Never been quite the same since! Bizarre thing was that, even though I'm British, they were the ones waxing lyrical about Rod Stewart (Maggie May had just come out) whilst I was totally knocked out by GCS and that bloody cigarette thing that I smoked! Great band, great music!

  • These guys may not be the best at what they do. But, no one better has come along yet.

  • That country rock sound a la "Teach your children" it's a thing always drive me crazy. And they are between the greatest. Evocative and a medicine for my soul. Thanks for sharing. Paul.

  • I was raised up with these boys from Kentucky. I follow them to their concerts now. I have played the shakers on stage w Charlie, Willard and the guys, partied in their motel room, (i'll leave it there) lol, and I can't wait to see them play again!

  • I used to go down on stoney run an old creek in Kentucky and crank up THE GOOSE CREEK SYMPHONY WFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GOOSE CREEK ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MegaHotrod57 yes they do

  • I am so glad I never neede to pawn shop my album's. I got welcome ro goosecreek since I was 16..and I'm now 57! this sound is timeless and makes me feel forever young.......grazie boys

  • @MsAnnestube I wish I stil had all my Goose Creek albums. I was living in Western North Carolina when I first heard them, way back in the early 70s and have enjoyed their music all these years. I too am 57 years old.

  • just sit back and listen to us play...they sing.......alright!

  • back in the beginning of the 70's...me and my brother and sister in law would be listening to the goosecreek album...lid back on a sunny day....it's timeless

  • i love goose creek

  • screamoguy123 you are the biggest cocksucker of them all. you would not know good musi if it came up and bit you in your bullshit ass.

  • this is the way music should be played...if you don't like it , find another channel.....

  • What the fuck is this shit, LEARN HOW TO SING AND PLAY GUITAR!!!!

  • @ScreamoGuy123 You've got to be kidding me. You're literally not allowed to talk shit bc I checked out your page (and before i checked it out I knew it was garbage bullshit music bc of your screenname (which is terrible). Don;t talk shit unless you know what you're talking about which obviously you don't. And yes I can talk shit bc the music you listen to sucks and thats a fact. This band has been around since the early 60's. They were one of the firsts to do it and they are STILL doing it!!

  • @edicius52 My dad listens to this, and its a FACT this music sounds like shit, the dude sounds like a dying donkey, and they sure don't know how to play electric guitar, the acoustic sounds pretty good, and that back up singer sounds like shit, and they dont even know what the hell they are talking about, these lyrics are idiotic, and my music, go look at the lyrics, it actually means something, and they know how to make music, unlike these bitches, sooo, FUCK YOU YOU HILLBILLY IDIOT!!!

  • @ScreamoGuy123 You just proved you ignorance. They cant play electric? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuck your music and the SHIT "lyrics". This whole concert is acoustic so why ar eyou talking shit about electric?dumbass. "hillbilly idiot" very cliche, how long did it take you to think of that?

  • @edicius52 About as long as your dick, and you just probed your ignorance. "You just proved you ignorance", but i've heard them play electric, so HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, and no one cares about cliche, that word cliche is getting cliche, and yes, you are a hillbilly idiot, and my lyrics actually mean something, unlike this band that talk about blue trees?, no I really don't need to waste my valuable time, now goodbye, HILLBILLY IDIOT!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @ScreamoGuy123 proved-

  • @ScreamoGuy123 You may want to reconsider your evaluation of Goose Creek Symphony music after you relisten to the lyrics with an open, non-judgemental mind. For example, you say "unlike this band that talk about blue trees". If you would take the time and listen you would see that they are talking about trees in BLOOM, not blue trees.

  • @shmadnumber1 Well I sure as hell cant understand what they are saying, and you cant read can you, I replied to my comment saying proved-.

  • Can you have a discussion without spewing insults? Please slow down and take the time to comprehend what you read and hear. I didn't comment on your "proved" comment. Now for Goose Creek music..Their music is not for everyone which is fine. Because you don't appreciate their music doesn't mean that they are lacking in musicianship or songwriting ability. These men have recorded dozens of records over the last 50 years and have shared the stage with the Allman Bros, Hendrix and countless others.

  • @ScreamoGuy123 probed my ignorance, huh?

  • @ScreamoGuy123 your an idiot and have you heard them live if you havent than you dont know what your talkin about there beter than you could ever be whatever the hell you call your music

  • @ScreamoGuy123: You know, I played in one of the most popular hardcore bands around this area, and even I'll tell you you're an ignorant little kid who shouldn't talk about things he doesn't understand.

Goose Creek Symphony are legendary, and they put on easily one of the best live shows I've ever had the fortune of seeing, and that ranges from Pink Floyd to the Misfits to Black Sabbath to James Brown.

I KNOW good music just as surely as I KNOW you don't know what you're talking about.

  • @PooPoo2U Dude, calm down, that was 6 months ago when I just found youtube and started exploring it, i've changed since then, I know it was really ignorant of me, trust me, but I still don't like them, but hey who am I to judge?, yeah, I apologize for my ignorance, I really do, I apologize to everyone I disturbed on this video, and I apologize to the band.

  • nothing on ones mind is a blessing.

  • enjoyed your performance and the song too

    greetings

  • love this music and allways have hey ha

  • Very nice! I love 3-part harmony.

  • Still great after all these years. I can remember them when Charlie and the gang came by to see grandfather and my mom. They were my mom's favorite band. I was just a little boy then. Can still remember them singing a few songs at our home for our family including my oldest brother and 2 sisters. Never forgotten that.

Hope they are around for along time.

  • I saw them at the Atlanta Pop Festival in 1971 and really enjoyed them. I didn't know they were back together.

  • goose on the lake 2010,great time wish it never ended!

  • @Jennifer821

Goose on the Lake is a good time. I have only been to the very first one but it is held at my father in law's farm.

  • man, pearl is just the definition of cool

  • 1973: I hitch hiked into Calgary, met some really good people, " smoke that, listen to this" they said and life has never been the same since! Took the LP back to the UK, ended up preaching to the unconverted, but still have the LP and a bad smoking habit.

  • I was at their only Phoenix concert at the old Music Box in 1773, they opened for doug kershaw and they were great. I have their 33 rpm record which they sold at the concert, and play it often.

  • GREATEST OF ALL TIME!

  • Just got thru listening to them. Had to look up some video...I guess its working on 35 yrs of fandom... Peace

  • These guys are the real deal.

    Proud, authentic American music from

    the heart.

Their authenticity rings thru from the 1st note.

I remember when they broke up in the 70s--I read about it in Billboard magazine.

The brief article said matter-of-factly that the members had tired of the road and were going back to their farms.

Glad to see 'em alive & very much kickin'.

I love any music that has quality & sincerity to it, like theirs does.

GCS + Nickel Creek=A Concert from heaven!!

  • Been a Goose Creek fan FOREVER! Thank you so very much for posting this beautiful video. Keep on keepin on!! Luv Ya!

  • This is one of my all time faves... Brings back memories from when I was a kid. I was raised on Goose Creek Symphony and Black Oak Arkansas... Is that good or bad? LOL...

  • Long live the goose...Peace

  • me and my ol man went to goose on the lake for the first time this year! needless to say he has had to take me to tidballs and the basement lol i can't get enough!
